May 2016 marks 30 years of trading and 4th consecutive Certificate of excellence award! I offer 2 trips most days. The 10.30 to 1.30 lunch sail for up to 8 people gives a hands on sailing experience with a sumptuous buffet lunch with wine. My jewel in the crown evening sail leaves at 6pm and is a taste of true yachting, eating and drinking out on the Lake! My 4 course dinner is cooked by me using the finest local produce cooked to your specification whilst the conversation (and wine)flows! I take up to 6 (Adults only) in the evening. You must of guessed by now that I am completely a one man band! I am receptionist, chauffeur, wine waiter, skipper, chef and washer upper!

This trip was summed up my one of my Children....."The best day of our two week holiday!" We took the Exclusive Boat Use Brunch option and were not disappointed. There were four in our group my wife, 16yr old daughter, 21yr old son and myself. Right from meeting John on the jetty we felt special and looked after. It was... More

John is a fantastic host, cook and captain in one! We shared a wonderful evening with four other guests. We were fortunate to have the best possible weather for the trip, which made the scenery even more magical. The food, well what can i say! From home made salsa and chutneys to local meats and cheeses, all prepared and cooked... More

John provides a fantastic service, serving brunch or dinner on his beautiful yacht. His knowledge of the local area on and around the Lake, is very interesting. Guests get a chance to steer the boat and take part in manouvers as well as learning some facts about sailing. Our brunch was lovely, served downstairs in his impeccably clean, bright cabin... More

John was a wonderful host. Very patient and informative. Good sense of humor, personable and fun. We had a fabulous afternoon with a delightful couple from Scotland and our family. Lunch was simple, yet imaginative and included some of his mother's recipes. John even had some gluten free crackers for my son...which was not planned. I would highly recommend an... More

Upon deciding that this was the perfect treat for a joint birthday celebration, John made everything so easy. It was wonderful! Not only is he a skipper and a fantastic chef but John is a knowledgeable guide too! We felt very comfortable in his company, he felt like a mate! His passion for Windermere matches his passion for his well... More

This experience was great. If there had been any further availability the week of my holiday, I'd have gone on this trip again. John is extremely knowledgable, welcoming and friendly (plus he's a great cook...and his mum). I will (without doubt) do this trip again when I next visit the lake. A big thank you to John for welcoming us... More

I have been sailing and dining for years. John is a wonderful cook, host and taxi driver all in one. The sailing experience was wonderful, beautiful scenery, peaceful and relaxing ambience, wine and beer freely flowing. The Beef just melted in the mouth, Tuna steak was delicious and even the vegetarian in our group raved about the pancakes John had... More

John was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about Bowness and Windermere which made the trip even better. John also gave us a restaurant recommendation for dinner which was incredible! It was great to be able to do a large portion of the sailing too! The food was also delicious and it is well worth booking of anyone is considering it!

My in-laws have been going on Sail 'n' Dine for some 9 years with John and always raved about it. My wife and I had been on the afternoon sail with them before and really enjoyed the sailing with a good light lunch. Have to say that having gone on the evening sail with my wife and mother-in-law (sadly my... More

From the minute we stepped onto the boat we knew we were in for a treat, John is the kind of guy you just warm to from the word go. He sat us all down on deck and explained the itinerary for the evening before setting sail round Belle Isle. He explained so much about the surrounding area, and considering... More
