About
Based in the little sea side town of Weymouth in Dorset, a stones throw away from the Jurassic Coast, we are a one stop shop for all fossils, ammonites, crystals/minerals, Shona sculptures, agate slices and dinosaur bones/fossils. Our range of fossils come from all over the world, as well as having fossils from the Jurassic Coast such as classic Lyme Regis fossils through to the in land fossil beds of Somerset. We also offer a very large range of beads, ranging from semi precious stones, pearls, crystal beads, shells and glass/plastic beads. We also sell tools to make jewellery, findings such as lobster clasps, beading wire, spacers, extension chains, elastic and so on. As well as pendants, charms and chains. The shop has a very varied selection of hand made jewellery that is made within the shop by it's staff. Customers have the option to design their own jewellery and make it themselves or have one of our members of staff make it for them. We are open 7 days a week from 10:00 - 5:30 and are open longer hours during the summer period.

We walked across the big stones towards the ammonite pavement marked on Google maps away from the throngs. Along the way we made a game of spotting both small and huge fossils embedded in the ancient stone slabs.

Our little one was tired plus it's a bit tricky navigating the big stones, so I carried on my shoulders for most of the journey and got a few breaks on the 'pavements'.

Even arriving around 4pm on an August Saturday, the nearest car park was very busy and we were lucky to find a space. It was around 1.70 per hour and charged until 9pm.

It was a beautiful natural scenic area and we all enjoyed it alot.

Hubby and I went back to beautiful Dorset and our trip would not have been complete without another trip to the amazing Fossil Beach shop located centrally in Weymouth, just a stone's throw from the sea. The staff are friendly, always happy to help and give advice and you name it - it's there! You can spend from one pound up to hundreds on enormous geodes and fossils. Very highly recommended.

I am very disappointed and embarrassed after my unpleasant experience shopping at fossil beach today. me and my family have been regular customers and spent a lot of money there for the past year. Me (16) and my younger sister (13) were shopping there today after school when the store manager lurked close behind us before loudly and unprofessionally accusing us of stealing we were taken back by this false accusation. He then went on to claim he had seen me putting some crystals down my bra. We calmly tried to explain to him there has been some kind of mistake and asked to see the footage which he denied us access to. He said he presumed we were stealing because we were teenage girls. We offered him to search our belongings and to recheck the cameras to prove our innocence. Seen reviews similar to this one so if you go to this store be ready to be interrogated

Very small interior which would cause a problem I feel at height of the season. We visited at the end of Octoberand with 4 families it was beginning to feel full. For me this was a must see shop.
Prices were good with many interesting and unusual items.
Worth a visit .

As a former geologist I am always interested to visit shops with rocks, minerals and fossils. This is a really nice one with an amazing collection, especially of fossils. Not surprising since the mecca for fossil hunting is further along the coast in Lyme Regis and Charmouth. I didn't buy anything but spent a good 10 - 15 minutes appreciating the items this shop had for sale. Good one.

Whenever I am in the town I make a beeline for this shop. There are always nice specimens to admire and prices for everyone's purse. I therefore find it difficult to leave without another fossil. Staff are helpful and knowledgable It is well situated near to George,s statue half way down the seafront you really cannot miss it.

This is one of my favourite local crystal shops and has been for years! It's a well established business and has a great selection of crystals, jewellery and fossils - something for everyone! It also sells beads and findings etc for making jewellery which would be a great rainy day pastime for children and adults alike. The shop is well stocked with a large selection of unusual items - great for unusual and well priced gifts to take home to friends if you're holidaying here. The staff are very friendly and it's really close to the beach. Well worth a visit.

Apart from being an absolutely fascinating and unique shop in itself, the service I received here a couple of days ago was exceptional and worth passing on to other Weymouth visitors. Last year a favourite bracelet of mine broke and was unrepairable. Since then I have searched everywhere for a replacement to no avail. I was sure I might find something similar when I went onto Fossil Beach but again, sadly it was not to be. However, having an idea, I cheekily asked the assistant if there was any chance she could amalgamate two of the shop's bracelets and restring them in the same way as the original. As we were only in Weymouth overnight I didn't really expect her to be able to do it, bearing in mind she was just about to close for the night. However, with a super efficient and sunny smile she kindly spent the next 20 mins or so patiently stringing the new bracelet for me and now I have an exact replica of the original one, plus extra shells, beads and nylon together with verbal instructions on how to make another (although unlikely I'm sure) should I need it. And all for a pittance. This sort of service goes such a long way nowadays, thank you.
