The gardens have been protected by the efforts of the "Friends of Greenhill Gardens" ever since it was muted that apartments may be built there.
Very often local singers or groups entertain at weekends.
It's all free of charge, although most people like to make a donation to the "Friends" with all monies going to further the garden's facilities.
The latest project is to repair the Floral Clock.

What a fabulous garden, they even have an arrangement of the infamous clock which has always been there as far back as I remember 50 years ago, obviously different flowers over the years. It is so peaceful there, I could sit for hours on end, just wish I lived there. Two cafes each end, the one I went in was quite expensive for drinks.

Wonderful flower displays right in the sea front. There is a working clock made of flowers and a memorial to the Battle of Britain Great arrangement of colour
There is also a cafe In The gardens great view overlooking the sea. There is also a bandstand and usually in the summer they have live music but due to the Covid-19 things are a little different

A free attraction, Greenhill Gardens is a great place to aim for when strolling along the esplanade and is particularly charming at sunset, when the lights around the bay are illuminated.

Highlights to spot include the wishing well (be sure to bring a penny to make a wish!!) and, at the right time of the year, the working floral clock. The planting displays are always impressive and of perennial interest.

My parents loved the flowers and designs and just strolling around.

The children enjoyed the view, trying to count the cruise ships.

There is putting available and a cafe, although we only took advantage of the take away drinks this time.

On a slope but accessible to everyone with amazing views of the coastline and out to sea. Immaculate flower beds many with memorials to the areas past. Lots of benches to relax upon. A cafe with great value food and drink to enjoy on site.

5-10 mins walk along the promenade opposite end from town. Gorgeous flowers beds, great designs ie the clock & tribute to NHS. Loads of benches to sit down & enjoy the stunning sea view. A very peaceful area to walk early morning or in the early evening.

Today we had a stroll through Greenhill Gardens. For the time of the year they are kept in very good shape. There are benches for us weary walkers to rest our legs. Sitting there you have got some great views out to sea. They have to be worth a stroll through if you are walking along the promenade. The hyacinths in the garden smelt fantastic.
