About
Thankyou for taking the time to view our listing. We love our cinema and feel proud of the service we offer to our local community, our fellow Weymouthians and to West Dorset. With us operating 9 screens and the 3 largest auditoriums in West Dorset, we are primary placed to offer a real benefit and service to Weymouth and to Dorset. We believe the people of West Dorset, the community we serve should have the right to watch any new films on the big screen in the latest digital and state of the art sound and picture quality. We pride ourselves on outstanding picture quality and atmospheric surround sound; the soft, deep-down comfort of our modern seating; the crunch of our popcorn; and, most importantly, the friendliest customer service around.

Been quite a few times and generally a decent experience, not too expensive, not usually too busy either.

However … every single time I go, they leave a bunch of the lights in the ceiling on during the film, if you go to other cinemas like Odeon they’re pretty much pitch black inside by comparison. It really grinds my nut as to why you’d leave a large amount of ambient light on when seeing a film on the big screen. I’d happily give this cinema 5 stars if they’d just turn those lights off. It’s pretty much my only issue, but my daze is it an annoying one. May just have to start doing the extra drive and go down the road to another Cinema instead until they sort it out.

Used our unlimited cards for the first time after moving to the area, great value! Was served by Cameron who went through the food options really well with us. Incredibly good service helping us make our decision on what we wanted. Fantastic experience from start to finish and the food quality was top notch.

The trouble isn't with the Cineworld in Weymouth, but with Cineworld in general. They need to catch up with Odeon in terms of the level of service and facilities that they offer in their cinemas.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on our cinema. On the whole we pride ourselves in our customer service and take any comments on our service and facilities very seriously. Our largest three screens 299, 265 and 218 are the three largest stadium screens in west Dorset. We operate 9 screens ranging from 102 to 299 seats which easily allow us to accommodate the demand of the community at the same time allowing us to run more times of the popular films and show additional films. We believe this make us primary placed to offer a real benefit and service to our fellow Weymouthians and to the people of West Dorset. We believe the people of West Dorset, the community we serve should have the right to watch any new films on the big screen in the latest digital and state of the art sound and picture quality with the best customer service around. Due to the amount of screens we operate it really allows us to serve our community like no one else can in West Dorset. Once again thank you for your kind word and we look forward to welcoming you to our cinema again in the near future. Happy cinema going  Kind Regards Terry Whitehead General Manager

We are on holiday and booked our daughter and a friend tickets for a 15 film. When they went to go in they were stopped and required proof of age, I understand this and appreciate that many lie about age. Our daughter rang us and my husband went to the cinema to confirm their age. However this was not good enough, my husband even showed them her school app with her picture on and date of birth. Cineworld will only accept a passport . Come on Cineworld think about it , a parent and school are not proof enough!

By the way she is 16 in 30 days and we wouldn’t let her go to the 18 film as this was illegal.

When the film failed due to technical reasons (National Theatre so £15 a ticket) the queue for refunds was very long and I asked if I could return the next day as I have health problem which means I cannot stand for long period in a queue.
The manager told me I could and even signed my ticket but the next day i was refused a refund point blank, told there was no-one I could speak to and my emails went unanswered. Absolutely awful customer service.

After living in Weymouth for 20 years & being a regular costumer at cineworld. I can now see why it's always empty & never gets a good review. The staff are rude, the place is always dead & the prices are an abomination.

I work as a carer for kids and some people in my care are on a semi independent program & after dropping one of the kids in my care off at home then heading into the cinema to meet the other I was told that I couldn't go and sit with a disabled child in care because it was too late into the film. 6 minutes after it started. Beyond a piss take and outside of my control to why I was late.

Just a bunch of miserable people taking their job way to seriously and pushing people away.

From now on I will be travelling to Dorchester to use the services over there.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our cinema. I apologise for the late reply, there were some problems with my log in account details but rest assured your comments was taken on board by the team at the time of your review. On the whole we love our cinema and feel proud of the service we offer to our local community and to West Dorset. I have to correct you slightly, we happen to take our jobs and the service we offer at our cinema extremely seriously. Whilst I sympathize with your situation please understand if the film had started then people entering the screen during the performance would have been a distraction to the guests already in there. Having said that there is ALWAYS a solution to every problem and your situation should have been dealt in a better way and for that reason you have my sincere apology. In regards to our box office prices and the service we offer I would like to offer you some pushback if I may. Without going into too much detail we have to go with a sustainable ticket price for the long term health of our business. Yes it is about finding a balance which we believe we have. Our prices are £5.30 every day before 6pm! We also now run 2 tickets for the price of 1 every Tuesday and Wednesday with the new Meercat promotion (see our website for details) We have one of the cheapest packages of box office tickets within Cineworld and the UK industry. Our average ticket price is well below the UK average and is cheaper than other cinemas operating in Dorset; Empire Poole, Odeon Bournemouth etc. We are extremely passionate about the service we offer to our customers. We are not in the industry to put any other cinema out of business and nor would we ever want too! Our competitors along with ourselves support and promote the industry we all dearly love. We are proud of what we offer! Proud of the extra films we can run due to operating 9 screens like our latest exclusive being Criminal and The Man who Knew Infinity. Proud of having the 3 largest auditoriums in West Dorset, proud of our leg room space, stadia seating, full premium seating in every screen, surround sound in ALL of our screens, our 3D RealD experience and above all having ALL our screen accessible to wheel chair users and Audio Description accessible something that is not always on offer in Dorchester! We choose to operate so many screens because it is our opinion that West Dorset is under serviced. It is our belief that with us running the largest three screens (299, 265 and 218) in west Dorset and operating 9 screens then it easily allows us to accommodate the demand of the community at the same time allowing us to run more times of the popular films whilst showing additional films. Films that would not be available to the people of West Dorset otherwise. We believe this make us primary placed to offer a real benefit and service to our fellow Weymouthians and to the people of West Dorset. We believe the people of West Dorset, the community we serve should have the right to watch any new films on the big screen in the latest digital and state of the art sound and picture quality at competitive industry prices and that is exactly what we offer. Thank you again for your review. If you would like to discuss this further then please send me a direct email and we can hopefully make a mends to this incident and have you visiting us again in the near future. Kindest Regards Terry Whitehead General Manager

Normal date night but what a great service from Shirley (18/09/19). Very polite, informative, helped with food choice and always smiled. Makes a chance in this day and age.

Thanks to the staff members.

My second visit this month was to see Mary Queen of Scots. Excellent seating. Cinema not full as afternoon viewing on a wet Day. Previous visit was with other friends to see The Favourite!
Sweets very expensive.

Visited with my daughter who unfortunately trapped her finger in a door. The Manager who was called Claire I think, came down straight away & gave the necessary first aid to my little girl who was quite hysterical at the time. She talked to her & very quickly & easily calmed her down. She got her a drink & even a toy to try to make her feel better! The team are always friendly when we come in & we love the choice of films that Cineworld always have. Would always recommend very highly.
