Evening sun and a dark foreboding sky made this visit. Translucent waves backlit by the setting sun one moment and crashing breakers pummelling the rock the next

Travelled to a very rugged scenic coastal area associated with fond younger memories with a good elderly (77) close neighbour. Portland and it’s surrounding area seems to offer that escape from it all but offering a tarmac covered parking area, with toilets (including disabled), somewhere...More

You can't go to Portland without going to see the lighthouse. Be prepared for a lot of stairs to climb but worth it to see how a lighthouse works. A lovely cafe just opposite the lighthouse for soft drinks and fab sandwiches loved the crab...More

A nice visit. Peaceful and a pleasure to be there. Have taken lots of photo’s, both in the sunshine and not so sunny days.

Apart from a car park which is hell bent on ripping you off this is a great place to go to for the views. Just have a wander round and admire the rock formations. Very windy!

Drove to the lighthouse and were planning to go up it but spent too long enjoying the views, climbing over the rocks and sitting in the cafe. Visited on a cold sunny Autumn day and surprised how warm it was here in the sheltered rocks....More
