    Great Holiday
We stayed in a cottage around the harbour area, we were a few minutes walk from the coastal path, which was good for us and a few minutes from shops , bars and restaurants. We did Jurrasic boat trip, walked to Portland to see Cruise ships docked and visited Portland Bill. We also used the local bus service and visited Dorchester, fabulous place to visit great market. The beach is amazing, long flat promenade to walk, we will definitely be returning.

    Short break in Weymouth
Love Weymouth. Been a few times and it never disappoints. The harbour with it's pubs, restaurants and shops on one side lead to Weymouth's beautiful beaches and on the other side to Nothe gardens and Fort, well worth a visit. Also worth visiting is Radipole lake nature reserve if you enjoy walking and spotting water birds. Entrance is free but parking is expensive.

Picturesque with lots of places to eat and drink
I loved this area which is picturesque and full of places to eat and drink. Never too noisy or crowded though, although it's true that I visited in October which is outside the main season. It's not far from the beach and other attractions and there's plenty of parking close by - or of course local busses.

    Good
We were staying in the area and we had a walk around here. There are lots of restaurants, pubs, cafes and little shops around. The bridge raises up at certain times which is good to see. The area was relatively clean however there was litter in places which was a shame. There are lot of boats moored up which is nice to see. Overall this is a good area to visit, it can get very busy with people especially those who do crabbing with the kits you can get from some of the local shops. The buildings are good to look at.

The harbour & beaches are spot on & the harbour at night has a great atmosphere when eating out etc. The charges for car parking during the day however are very expensive if you want to stay for the day. And we had one night where the large Pavilion car park was shut completely due to a show taking place with no prior warning it was to be shut.

    Harbour
Lovely place to sit and relax and watch boats come in and out. The harbour is surrounded on 2 sides by some lovely bars and restaurants. Lovely place to spend a nice summers evening.

Great harbour for food and drink. There's plenty of choice.
It was nice sitting on the benches in the evening listening and watching people milling about.
There's boat trips you can go on from the harbour. We went on one that cost £20 per person and we were out for just over an hour.
We saw some dolphins whilst out at sea, which was amazing!

Just look at the reviews!!....we are here in the depth of winter yes every appeal of this harbour makes any time visit worthwhile. Visit the fish market and buy some fresh fish to seal the deal....superb visit put it on the bucket list.

Just visited the fish market again do support the fishing community by buying some of their sea fresh food...,terrific

We took our granddaughter down to the harbour to experience crabbing. I have been to Weymouth many times over the years and I will never tire of it. Even during these COVID-19 times it was still bustling with activity. We walked around the harbour and done some crabbing before catching a rowing boat back across the harbour for a couple of pounds which my granddaughter really loved. Plenty of shops and excellent eating establishments in the vicinity. It was a shame we missed out on the bridge lifting up but hopefully there will be another time

Stroll along the harbour, take in the working vessels and a Harbourside view that has changed little in 100 years. Sit & rest, pop into an art gallery or museums, or eat & drink in one of the many bars/restaurants. Try modern local & international cuisine, traditional ice cream, fish & chips. I recommend a boat trip round the bay and Portland harbour.

Visited 10th to 13th September. Admittedly, the weather was wall to wall sunshine and temperatures in the twenties which only added to the euphoria! The South Harbour was just fabulous. Historic and quaint, easily accessible on foot or to park nearby. A busy working fishing harbour buzzing with life & history. Just 'mooched' about taking in the vibes, admiring the ancient buildings, drinking, eating, sitting on the harbour wall people watching. Children crabbing, local buskers, Bennetts Fish n chips, oh wow! Must see.......

This is still very much a working harbour so there are quite a few fishing boats as well as pleasure craft - really nice to see somewhere that has managed to keep the working tradition alive. There’s a real atmosphere about the area and a sense of history with many well kept traditional buildings which have been sensitively repurposed in many cases. But there is still a lifeboat and a harbour master’s. I loved the idea of the rowboat ferry which takes you across for £2 instead of having to walk down to the bridge and back, such a quirky yet sensible idea (even if we didn’t use it!) with plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants around you could easily spend a couple of hours here just people and boat watching, or use it as we did as part of an attractive walk through Weymouth to the Nothe Fort area.

aboslutely love it here. Great atmosphere and great food! the lifting bridge is brilliant to watch too. if you cross the bridge from the beach side and keep on walking and following the path, past the lifeboat etc you will come across a lovely gentleman who does little boat crossings to get back to the other side, only £2 adult and £1 a child. highly recommend!

We only visited Weymouth harbour in the evening for food and drinks, and in the off season - so I can't comment on what it's like on a nice sunny summer's day. What we did see though we really loved. It's a great place to wander around, and there's a large selection of pubs and restaurants (highly recommend The Ship Inn). Plenty of parking was available on the quayside (another perk of going in October I imagine). We even saw some herons waiting around for food.

Nice place to visit and walk around. Some big boats in when we were there, and some more usual ones.
Loads of cafes, restaurants and pubs around the harbour.
You can walk over bridge and along to fort, and out along harbour wall. You get good views of Weymouth and Portland from here.
On way back you can go up to park next to fort (fort entrance carries a fee), and again good views of Portland.

We are relatively new to boating so always looking for easy access. This is excellent the slipway is accessible, there is plenty of room to park the trailer, there is a car park right next door. The harbour staff couldn't be any more helpful and pleasant. We had a lovely time, so much so that we used the harbour twice.
