We visited this area to say we had seen it. It has a huge stony bank that is difficult to climb. Not suitable for anyone with stability problems. We only stayed an hour but also visited the visitor centre this was very good and informative.

We have just spent 2 weeks in Portland and have become lovers of Chesil beach and Chesil Cove! We love how wild the sea is and how calm it is soon after. It is peaceful, serene and the sunsets are amazing! There will always be...More

Hard work to get to the sea as pebbles. Not a beach to bathe in but lovely to sit and watch the waves.

We went to stand on top of Chesil bank (A 7 mile strip of banked pebbles that has naturally been formed by the sea) It is also Britain's only World Heritage site. The wind was high (don't go too close to the sea) which mean...More

The Chesil bank is a very interesting and attractive destination. We drove on the road running parallel to the bank for it's length from Portland onward. The views from the road are stunning. Unfortunately we accessed the bank itself at the Weymouth/Portland end. The beach...More

Chesil beach looks stunning from high up on Portland Bill. Once you down there it is still very impressive, a huge bank of pebbles (not sand). You can walk for miles almost back to Weymouth.

This incredible bank of pebbles, which range from large at one end to small at the other, is well worth a visit for the extensive views across Lyme Bay. We accessed the beach via a park and display car park which also houses a takeaway...More

Such a beautiful interesting beach which is well worth a visit. It's very serene. However completely spoilt by the amount of rubbish from empty packets to discarded fish heads. Please respect this beautiful place if you are visiting and take your rubbish with you.

Having visited as a 10 year old back in the day I wanted to bring along my teenage son to experience the high winds at the top of the beach that could almost blow you over. Tiny bit disappointed to arrive and find only a...More

I'm honestly not sure. Your best bet would be to check the website. It's a National Trust area so there will be a phone line.
