Brilliant place to visit if u like to watch water sports or to sit and watch the sea especially when its windy and the waves are crashing against the pebbles on Chesil beach. Hard work walking up over the banks but worth it as view is fantastic and then u can treat yourself to a cuppa and a cake in... More

This beach is fantastic, the stones are so smooth and the views are never ending. We usually spend no more than 2 hours here, throwing stones into the sea - the waves can be amazing here and can sit watching them for ages with the sound of the pebbles rolling in the waves. It's a lovely place to visit.

We visited on the recommendation of a friend, but let the SatNav guide us and ended up at this, the wrong end of Chesil Beach. To start with there was so much rubbish everywhere and lots of glass amongst the pebbles, so not great for our dogs. There were fishermen all along the sea edge and after 10 minutes one... More

A great place to go. Sit relax and watch the sun set on the horizon. Probably the best sunset you will ever see in such tranquil surroundings.

Worth a visit which is very beautiful. No sand but sit on the beach and while away the time. there are places to park but all are pay and display so you need change !

Always love visiting the Chesil. Can't think of a more dramatic beach to see. The amount of pebbles is mind blowing! Please be aware that this is generally not a safe beach to swim at. But it is spectacular and an important element of the Jurassic Coast. A suburb view can be had from the Portland Heights Hotel. Dorset at... More

The views from Chesil Beach are great, but its hard work walking on the pebbles. Went for a short walk did enjoy the fresh sea air though. Its well worth a visit even if your not staying long go have a walk and enjoy

The beach would be an excellent place to take the kids. It is a safe environment where they can play in the water and look for sea creatures without the parents worrying. There's a café there but not a lot else. For adults not a huge amount to do, but as stated good for families

Stunning, unique experience with lovely views on a sunny day. Especially bleak and atmospheric in bad, windy weather, with waves crashing into the endless bank of pebbles. Good for solitary contemplation, and equally great for families with energetic kids.
