We visited Radipole Lake after many years absence, the reserve is well maintained, with plenty of information, knowledgeable volunteers and a small shop and tea room. A lovely " oasis" in the middle of the town.

Lovely viewing spot. Even sitting in the cafe we found ourselves watching various martins and swifts diving about overhead catching the insects. We arrived at about 9am and were told they were just changing the opening time to 9:30am so might be worth checking if you are early birds like us. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. One... More

This was the first place we visited in Weymouth. The reserve is full of bird life a lot of which can be seen from the visitor centre it's self. It has a brilliant decking area on one end and panoramic Windows on the other. The staff are friendly and willing to help you spot and even point out things you... More

Didn't see many birds this time, but still a lovely walk around the reserve on a Sunday afternoon. Lots of places to just sit and watch, followed by a drink on the terrace overlooking the water

The gentleman in the orientation centre was most helpful, and gave us a board which illustrated all the birds which we should expect to see. Fortunately he didn't look for any money. On our walk around the wetlands, we could not see any of the insects described on the information boards. We saw about as many birds as you would... More

If you love birds and nature in general this is the place for you. It is a beautiful picturesque place that is welcoming. The car park is a few seconds away with the RSPB hut, which serves hot and cold drinks and hot and cold snacks. It also has toilet facilities. The staff there are very nice and welcoming and... This is a lovely 1-3 mile walk around wetland and reed beds. There is a designated path way and is accessible for all, including wheel chairs. The amount of varied birds to be seen here is fantastic, on our visit we saw Marsh harriers and herons (from the hide) as well as cormorants, moorhens and oyster catchers. it is close... More

This is an RSPB site but you do not have to pay to enter. There are well laid paths and viewing platforms. The shorter walk is around 1 mile and you can add another mile to go to the North Hide. Even if you are a bad birdwatcher you will still see around 10 different species of birds.
