- WiltshireLassSouth West England, United Kingdom123 contributionsBeautifulFirst time visiting this BEAUTIFUL beach, only via walking on the seafront though, we didn't go on the actual beach or in the sea, but it was so beautiful with a lovely calming feeling as you walk around it. The gardens were pretty too. Will definitely return!Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 19, 2023

A new addition, the chunky tyre disable chair makes the beach accessible to all. Area for dog owners. Lovely shallow clear sea. Kayaks, paddleboards and pedalos to hire. A lifeguarded beach with wrist bands incase your child gets lost. Food shacks all along the promenade. Toilets just off the beach. Bus stops and land train stop right by the beach. Fair rides on the beach and near the beach. The beach is minutes from a large selection of cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and more.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 21, 2023

With my grandparents, my parents and now my husband and our very old dog. I’ve loved this beach since I was a child now in my 50’s I still love this beach. It is a luxurious sandy beach and I really love it. The dog as old as she is thought she was a puppy when here and tried to run on the sand. Lovely beach great town B lots of nice places to eat and drink. Perfect English seaside.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 12, 2023

- ajamdonut9 contributionsBeautiful beaches with lots of coastline to visitWeymouth. What a beautiful place. Surrounded by the world heritage coastline and beautiful blue sparkling water. There are many places to stay, amazing placing to visits and during summer you could almost mistake it for not being in the UK. We visit often now and it's our favourite stay-cation destination.Visited June 2023Traveled with friendsWritten April 12, 2024
- Emma SBasildon, United Kingdom200 contributionsLovely, clean, not overly crowded, dog friendlyWho would want to visit a busy beach side town on a busy bank holiday Monday at lunchtime on the first day of a bit of sunshine?! Us! And we were pleasantly surprised, we found somewhere easy to park (£££), no queuing, everywhere was clean, toilets accessible, and smiling happy faces. There was everything from well cared for donkey rides to fair ground rides, free water to refill your bottles, deck chair hire to all your usual arcade rides, and high street favourites. We walked the whole stretch of the beach, and it appeared one side was designated for doggies! Of course had to stop for fish and chips and a cheeky ice cream! A pleasant experience to what I was dreading!Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 6, 2024

- Lee R20 contributionsBeach is lovely parking is far to expensiveWeymouth beach is lovely and the sea is clear.plenty of beach huts for a nice cup of tea coffee ice cream etc. A fair has well. It's downfall of weymouth is the parking prices 7.30 upto for hours.after that jumps to 15 00. If you want to spend the day at lodmoore adventure park for the day. 15.00 pound to park and the costs on top for adventure park. Fabulous Lois , cafes and shop close by . BUT ! The massive funfair really spoils what is a beautiful bay . It blocks the sea view from restaurants and cafes it’s just awfulVisited August 2024Traveled soloWritten August 13, 2024

We (2 adults, 2 children under 9) visited Weymouth beach as we were staying in Preston. Car park was easy to find (c.£6 for 6 hours I think) and a short walk to the main beach. We decided to set up at the back, by the promenade to limit the amount of groups we’d be next to - the beach was filling up even at 9.30am when we arrived, so social distancing was always going to be difficult.
We were near Baboo which not only served Oatly milk for coffees, but also some amazing ice creams and I’d definitely recommend.
The sand was lovely and soft but dig deeper and it was damp and perfect for modelling and the children had a great time building a fortress around our “patch” to observe social distancing.
My husband took the children on a pedalo (£3.50pp for 30 mins), which they all really enjoyed and they swam in the sea, which surprisingly wasn’t freezing.
The toilets nearby were well maintained and clean and I was pleased to see life guards on duty.
All in all, I was really impressed by the cleanliness and overall look of the beach.

We loved our 3 days in Weymouth, we were lucky to have a mini heatwave and took full advantage of the unexpected Sept sunshine. The beach has golden clean sand. we got there early and could see it had been "swept". we hired 2 deck chairs and was really happy with the prices, so cheap Less than £5 for 2 all day. we set up by the Lifeguard hut and the toilets were plentiful and spotless. Even on such a busy day there was always loo roll, soap ad hot water- a credit to the cleaners who worked so hard to keep them clean and stocked.
The cafe right opposite was fantastic, friendly staff and again really good prices. Simple food but done perfectly. we had 2 days on the beach then on the cloudier day we explored the harbour and town area. The harbour had lots to see and we enjoyed watching the super yachts in the marina and day dreaming what it would be like to own one. Again we saw litter pickers and the area was clean and well kept. Lots of variety of places to eat to suit all budgets.
I was really surprised how much I enjoyed the area, we usually go to Cornwall , but couldn't get a camp site. There loss as now we have a new favourite place to visit and we have already booked for next summer.

One of the best and the cleanest sandy beach i went ever. My kids and their friends enjoyed a lot. Water is so clear and blue. The best thing is the toilets are so clean and there is a staff operating and cleaning them. Lovely people around and very positive atmosphere. Even in the pandemic people around you are so careful and maintaining the distance. Parking was so easy and secured & it costs us only £5 for 6 hours. Me and my family will love to go there again.

The 4 of us stayed 3 nights, lovely renovated bedrooms on top floor, new carpet, shower and modern furnishing. No breakfast due to Covid19 but plenty of places very near. Lovely bar in the evening and drinks available on the outside patio. Jonathan the manager was superb we had a great welcome and he couldn't do enough to make our stay the best it could be, plenty of laughs we ( Theresa, Neil, Mattie n Jill) will definitely be going back.

Weymouth beach is long and lovely. Wide sands and very gently shelving into the sea, it is safe for kids and fun for anybody. Right now there is the added interest of seeing the 'ghost ships' - ocean liners and cruise ships sheltering in the bay because of the Covid 19 situation. We swam from just below the Victoria clock and ate at a small beach side cafe there - sensible prices and friendly service. The weather was terrible with wild gale force winds and some rain! (But you can't blame anyone for that). Each morning the beach is raked and smoothed over with a tractor and cleared of any rubbish. The water also seemed very clean and sheltered.

The beach is pebbly at the south end but has lovely sand at the top near the harbour. It has a look out life guard station at the sandy side as well as pedalo's available to hire at reasonable prices. There are plenty of places to get snacks and drinks and lots of places to be able to take a rest if just walking along the front. The beach is beautiful and clean and no dogs are allowed on in the summer months.

Lovely beach but awful experience won’t be going again. I went to the beach with my children on a very hot summer day during school summer holiday ( 9/8/22 ) the beach was very busy and packed. I sat in front of a rude and nasty man and put my wind breaker up he swore at me and spoke to me very rudely using F words apparently I blocked his view and what not and told me to F in move. I sat wherever it was convenient for me and close to the water to watch my kids as I have 2 autistic children. I have never been spoken to so rudely in public in my life I even said sorry and moved for his view. I really believe he was like that specifically to me as I am from an ethnic background. Later a white family sat in front of him he said nothing to them. Bad experience ruined my whole day won’t be going again.

When the weather was good, as it was during most of my 2 week holiday, the beach looked very full, but when you got onto it there was plenty of space, and most people were observing social distancing.
The big difference this year was the absence of childrens rides etc. on the beach, even the Punch and Judy was not there, but the donkeys were still giving rides. The pedalos were operating. as were the lifeguards, so in many respects it did not seem too different.
As usual, the beach was clean, and new toilets have been built.

As you drive up into Weymouth the wide Sandy cove stretches out on your left. On the right is a gentle curve of candy coloured stunning houses that gives the impression of riches that must have been here at one time. The Sandy beach is spotless and the donkeys, Punch and Judy and sand sculptures are all here too. They have managed to keep it feeling traditional and I was surprised at just how lovely it is. Definitely planning on coming back.

What a fantastic, large, mostly sandy, beach with a lovely aspect too. Plenty for everyone to enjoy and the toilets and shower areas look excellent. The sea is clearly safe too. Deckchair and windbreak hire is really good value at £2.50 and £3.50 per day respectively. A super, wide promenade makes for a lovely stroll and there are loads of cafes and ice cream parlours nearby. The town centre and train station are both a short walk away too.

I think it's only in the summer. We went in February so didn't see it. It's a nice level walk along the front for buggies or wheelchairs (we didn't have either but appreciated the comfort!)
