So many places to explore
Mar 2021
Absolutely love Glen Tanar. So many nice walks and the rangers are very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to get up to the Loch for some fishing.

Tranquil place
Nov 2020 • Couples
Enjoyed a pleasant walk here on a sunny autumn day. Unfortunately the visitor centre was closed but managed to navigate our way around on foot. Climbed to the Knockie viewpoint and walked around the estate. Just the place to blow the cobwebs away and get away from it all

Glen Tanar Equestrian Centre
Oct 2020
Glen Tanar itself is a stunning location. This review is specifically relating to the Equestrian Centre. I have ridden here 3 times now and loved it every time. I am not a regular rider and therefore most of my experiences have been on holiday hacks often with horses that ignore the rider and just follow the one in front. This is not the case here. They are well schooled and the guides are friendly and happy to offer advice for the less experienced rider, which I found very helpful. The rides they offer take you through beautiful woodland and, on the longer rides, up hills with excellent views. I cannot recommend it enough.

This place is amazing there are set walks you can go on at the visitors centre and lots of information there. It is a beautiful unspoilt area. Great for walking, cycling, running and horse riding.

We had a remarkable experience riding in the Highlands for 2 hours. Maggie, our guide was terrific. Seeing the countryside on horseback is a wonder and beautiful way to see scenery off the beaten path..

Absolutely lovely walk and views. We chose the longest pathway and was not disappointed. Worth a go when you not fancy too much climbing.

Awesome. Would highly recommend with excellent staff who were very welcoming and let us borrow their fly rod. Thanks!

Beautiful walk and estate
Jul 2019 • Couples
We walked here last weekend and did the circular route which is roughly 5 miles. Beautiful day, walk and scenery, took us around two and a half hours to walk the estate which we really enjoyed. Path has been washed away in certain areas due to floods in 2016 however they have built an alternate path in one location. Lots of bridges to cross and falls to see, parking is limited and costs £3 for a car for a whole day. We are very lucky in Scotland to have so many beautiful walks.

afternoon ride

I was delighted with my ride on a well cared for and happy pony and the attention to safety and enjoyment was most evident. The beautiful surroundings and informative ride escort contributed to a really memorable experience. Thankyou for adapting the ride to my level of ability!
