Overview
More
High Cup Winery is Cumbria's only winery and vineyard. Using modern techniques it aims to produce fruit wines in the style of modern boutique grape wines. Only fruit grown on the farm or in the local area are used in the wine-making process. Situated at the foot of the Pennines in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the winery enjoys outstanding views of the Lakeland Fells across the valley of the River EdenArt at the Winery is our popular summer art exhibition held during July and August. Also on display is a permanent exhibition of the geology of the local area around High Cup Nick. This was produced with the help of the North Pennines AONB Partnership in 2011, but has been expanded since to include more exhibits and literature. Visitors will be able to enjoy tastings of wines and light refreshments, including delicious home-made cakes, while viewing the exhibits.

Lovely exhibition of local art works. Excellent & informative section on the area's geology. They do a good cup of coffee too. What else was there - oh yes excellent wines too.

It's an odd (but very pleasant) combination of an exhibition about the area and wine tasting experience. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot. I would suggest doing the High Cup Nick walk beforehand (quite a tough walk by the way!), then going around...More
