Beautiful area and experience. Had seen many photos, but reality was much better. Peaceful sound of water. Good day when we visited, very few people. I don't think I'd like to visit when it is hot and crowded. Much history attached to this area. Various...More

We were lucky enough to stay at the holiday cottage next to the falls and arrived when it was in flood- goodness me, a raging torrent and stunning to see. As the days went bay the water level fell and the ford became passable. Still...More

What a lovely place just ensure sensible footwear. Beautiful ford - you need boots for that. Well kept properties. Although signposted it could be considered a hidden gem.

Stayed at White Rose Caravan Site near Appleby and walked from the site to Rutter Falls one day. Beautiful place and we’ll worth the visit.

Amazing if only for the red squirels. There are so many of them and as I had never seen them before I was really pleased. Could not drive through the ford as the water was flowing too high and too fast.

We stopped at the local caravan site and walked down. Lovely place, very peaceful. Don’t try to park close by though, unlikely to find anywhere. There was a small tea room signposted but we couldn’t find it. Definitely worth a visit

Returned again this year. Beautiful spot and some nice dog walks there too. My 10 year old and my parents in their 70's love it too!
