From the outside the building is amazing but inside the space is on par with any of the big Victorian London museums. The collection is huge, varied and well displayed.

the swan is great, there is a mis-labeled exhibit in the porcelain. but there are about 10,000 other things so thats not bad. I liked it and can go again tomorrow and every day for a year which is nice.

We were absolutely blown away by the wonderful Bowes Museum - so much to see. Needless to say the silver swan was the highlight but so were the clothes through the ages and the two fabulous Caneletto pictures. Very helpful staff and an excellent cafe....More
