I visited the spa today only to discover they have been taken over by new management, and with it, a complete drop in the high standards they once held dear. The gave me the WRONG treatment, and then argued with me when I told them about it, even though I had proof of my original booking. I left feeling very annoyed and with insulted to be spoken to this way.

Having received an £85 voucher for Christmas last year from my parents I couldn’t wait to attend sessions spa for a post pregnancy massage. I’ve visited the spa before and loved it, so couldn’t wait to return.
However, after calling last week to book a treatment I have been left disgusted by the fact that Sessions will not allow me to use the voucher as it has just expired. The voucher was valid for 6 months (most of which we were in lockdown) and unbeknown to me Sessions had extended it for 3 months so the voucher was valid until 1st November. Sessions spa are refusing any kind of flexibility or arrangement and I feel after the year we’ve all had it’s an utter disgrace.
I fully appreciate that it has been a tough time for everyone and that businesses are bouncing back from very difficult times but all other businesses that I’ve dealt with (including some in the same industry) are doing everything they can to support customers and help them through with kindness and flexibility. I offered to book an additional treatment on top of the voucher amount so that the spa were making extra money and this was also refused. It’s greed and as a result they have certainly lost my continued business.
I’m now back at work and my husband works away so with a small baby life is busy. I equally appreciate this is the same for lots of people but some relaxation time to myself would have been amazing. Both myself and my family will not be returning to Sessions spa and I urge others to be wary of purchasing vouchers from them.

Went this Friday with a friend for 50th birthday treat. Having read the majority of reviews felt confident that this would be a a good experience and expected a good level of service. Wrong!. Firstly, the treatment we had booked was wrong. Explained this to member of staff, she went and came back saying I was wrong, she had checked with reception, I was not wrong. Really annoyed, no appolgy, nothing. Room cold, massage mediocre, no sign of aromatherapy oil until very end when patted on the shoulder with some!. Towel thrown over my head during massage. Luxury pedicure a joke, nothing luxury about it, just bog standard pedicure, paid £9.00 extra for gel polish. Seat broken, had to move mid pedicure. Generally disappointed, had much better services than this at a much lower price. This place likes to give the impression it provides a better more up market service, when in reality it is cheap, save your money and go elsewhere!

My boyfriend and I visited sessions for a couples massage package, with a two course meal at the Westwood restaurant. The staff were all lovely and ensured we had plenty of drinks throughout our visit. We were given a comfy robe and some flip flops to wear whilst we were there. The massage (back, shoulders and neck) was great, we both really enjoyed them and came out feeling relaxed. The sauna was refreshing. The meal was stunning as always. It was all very well organised. It was a relaxing visit from start to finish, and we would definitely come back. Thank you!

Managed to actually get to Beverley for my Birthday treat my daughter had bought me for my birthday last year. Due to COVID my visit was delayed. We both had 2 treatments a full body scrub for me and a back massage for my daughter followed by we both had a facial. Treatments ok nothing special bed we laid on really lovely though nice and warm. Nothing was discussed about products used on our facials so guess one size fits all for this treatment. Had to sit in dark relaxation room had a coffee though. We had to remove our shoes and we’re not offered any slippers most disappointing that we had to walk quite a long way in socks. I don’t know how much my gift was but certainly was not worth the money very scaled down day and disappointed shall not be going again and would not recommend

It was the first time I had visited Sessions Spa and obviously expecting Luxurious Surroundings and a Luxurious Experience, from the Beautiful Building I had seen on many occasions whilst passing.

I will simply say that I was disappointed as soon as I entered the Building and stood in the quite dark Reception Area.

Unfortunately I didn't get the Whow Factor I had hoped for, even whilst sat on one of the very large black velour chairs studded with diamonte', which were also rather uncomfortable.

The Express Pedicure and Gel Polish I had was satisfactory, but I preferred a similar procedure I have had at a much smaller, but for me a more Beautiful Salon and less expensive.

The people there were helpful, but cannot understand why I was taken to a very dark 'relaxing room', to choose the colour of the polish which I couldn't actually see and had to ask to go somewhere lighter.

front of house staff were unwelcoming, stated how they were so busy. No hot drinks facilities due to covid ..info not provided beforehand or we would have brought a costa. Eventually she sought permission to go get one from the Westwood restaurant for us to have with our meal ....didnt tell us this was at an additional cost until settling our bill at the end. Reception manager rude and unhelpful..and her cup of tea brought to her in a communal cup by another staff member! Too many staff behind the desk.
Covid secure? No ... sharing pedicure tools and passing nail polish rings between people!
Treatments and lunch were enjoyable, but the above did taint the visit.

Beautiful place, and the staff are wonderfully friendly. Very well prepared with Covid-19 precautions. I was after a deep-tissue massage, with real pressure on my muscles, and my masseuse, Jade, was wonderful!

I would obviously have liked to visit when the steam room was up and running, but it was well worth it even in these restricted times.

We both really enjoyed our treatments. Lovely, friendly staff who made us comfortable and relaxed. We enjoyed the opportunity to have a free hot drink in the relaxation area afterwards and not feeling rushed to leave. The only improvement we can think of would to be offered slippers when we removed our shoes (for the stone floor).

Thank you Lizzyineastyorks for leaving such a detailed review, we appreciate all feedback. We are sorry to hear you were not offered slippers when you were asked to remove your shoes, we do as a rule offer slippers to all of our clients entering the spa, I can only assume this was overlooked on your visit and can only apologies and inform you that this will not be the case should you come and see us again, We hope that we do. Regards The Sessions Spa Team
