Beverley Minster towers over this medium sized town and is a must-see if you are in the area. Parking in Beverley can be a challenge but the Minster has its own free car park opposite the entrance, so it’s worth finding this. The Minster is large, impressive and in an excellent condition. It was used recently for the coronation and... More

I know it was late in the afternoon but it was a glorious September afternoon, it was 4.30. The place closes at 5pm and apparently the entrance doors are closed at 4.45pm. Not the day we went.......several couples like us disappointed and baffled.

We're sorry that we closed early that day. The virger on duty had to take a family member for a medical appointment unexpectedly. Normally we are very strict about opening and closing times, and if they have to vary we will post them on the website. This was a one off - many apologies. More

Not overly religious but the building is so beautiful from the outside and so close to the market that a look inside is merited and I have to say you would not be disappointed, for a building that is over 1300 years old it is looking pretty good with wonderful architecture and stained glass windows

An absolutely stunning building in a very interesting and characterful town. It compares very favourably with other places I have visited. Unfortunately the shop does not open until 10 o'clock so I did not buy anything!

This stunning place of worship inspires awe. It is a cathedral of light and shade, of celebration and sadnesses, the heart of a community which has walked its ways and prayed in its quiet places for hundreds of years. So much can be seen of its past, including great lists of those from East Yorkshire who 'gave their lives' to... More

Where to start? The stone carvings of the musicians on the outer walls of the aisles, the angel musicians in the nave, the misericords, the carvings in the choir.... A fascinating building and remarkably accessible by wheelchair (there are a couple of parking spaces in a small area just opposite the north side of the cathedral and access is clearly... More

A beautiful building well worth a look around if you are visiting the very clean and tidy town of Beverley. We were given an informative leaflet on entering and a very helpful gentleman volunteer told us some of the history. For fans of the TV series 'Victoria' the Minister was used for her Coronation and marriage to Albert. Entry was... More

We came from lichfield for the day to look around, as soon as we got there we were offered maps and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. After a walk around the gift shop was well worth a visit well stocked with gifts to suit all budgets. If you are in the area it's well worth popping In but... More

Thanks for helping the disabled person. There are signs for our accessible entrance, which we hope are obvious but tasteful. We'll review the signage - and in the long term we want to make our main entrance fully accessible. More

This place is an absolute gem. It's peaceful, pleasant and interesting historical connections, beyond the Minster itself. The people within the Church ( all volunteers I'm assuming) were really helpful and informative too, especially the guy working in the shop.
