I thought the day was really good value for money. My daughter had a super time and came home with some delicious food. She learnt some new skills and also gained more confidence. Will definitely book again.

Really pleased your daughter enjoyed the class and look forward to seeing her again. Look out for a gingerbread house making class in December which I am sure she will love! More

This was my third visit to Southburn and find myself addicted! I wanted someone else to appreciate that which I had enjoyed so much, so this time I came along with my daughter. Now, she too, is desperate to return! Katy Beskow was a lovely tutor; so friendly and welcoming. She gave us some useful tips and was very patient... More

Four of us travelled from the SE and stayed for two nights. Very acceptable rooms, comfortable lounge, top breakfast and friendly staff. We had gone to learn to make pies - apple, pork, and pasties, and had a wonderful day with expert tuition. Would recommend going on a course, and we plan to return for more, but hope the owners... Thank you Jon for your review and comments and we are delighted to hear that you intend to return. We too were shocked by the amount of flies present when you visited us and, as we said at the time, we had never seen so many. The situation took us by surprise and was not something we had experienced or... More

Very good, in detail tuition, chance to meet like minded people and enjoy a chat over lunch, very helpful assistants who even do all the washing up, well recommended.

Today was my second visit to the cookery school, this time to make tapas. As during my previous visit, the course ran seamlessly, was well paced, with ample opportunity to ask questions and seek advice. The food we produced was delicious. We will be returning v soon.

Brilliant, we'll run course which taught me a lot about bread making! Excellent lunch and I came home with a Granary Cob, Stromboli, Focaccia and Banana Bread! Highly recommended in every way!

A well run course introducing the right way to prepare an Indian meal, rather than the 'throw some spices into the pan and see what happens' method I have usually employed. Others have mentioned the facilities which are excellent, and the small group of 8 was ideal for the tuition before we attempted our versions of the dishes prepared. I... More

For a first time attending a cookery course, this far exceeded any expectations me and my partner had. The whole day was fantastic and all staff were friendly and welcoming throughout. The day was superbly organised and the demonstrations were given in a professional yet relaxed manner, which immediately put us at ease. The facilities are excellent and, as well... More

I've never taken a cookery course before, but this was great. I spent the day making bread, and came back with some terrific loaves and, more importantly, the knowledge of how bread is made, which is a very physical thing that it's hard to learn from books.
