Hi Thanks for your comments and I'm glad you found the Gildhouse interesting. We are open from 10.00 - 4.00 pm every Wednesday between Easter until the end of October. It would be great if we could open more frequently but we are dependent on volunteers and one day per week is about all that we can manage until we... More

This is a gem in Cornwall and UK. A Tudor building, simple and beautiful. Great venue for weddings, baptisms, dinners and parties. I has a massive parking space and it is far enough from neighbours so that music can be played. The building itself has got European prize for its great state. I have had parties, children baptism and dinners... More

Ruben Thanks for your lovely comments about the Gildhouse. It certainly is ideal for parties of any type. Of course the Gildhouse is also worth a visit during the summer to see and hear about the fascinating history of the 460 year old building. The award winning restoration we did in 2008 gives visitors of all ages the opportunity to... More

We often go to the Gildhouse when we're in the area visiting family. It's always a fascinating place to be, full of character, history and a warm welcome.

We dropped into the Poundstock Gildhouse when staying nearby. We were on a walk to Millook Bay. The Gildhouse is only open on a Wednesday and we got there just as it was closing. However the very charming ladies invited us in and gave us a quick tour of this lovely old medieval building. There are events throughout the year... More

Thanks for your lovely comments about the Gildhouse - we're glad that you enjoyed your visit to our wonderful old building. Sorry that you arrived a bit late to have a good look around. We would love to open for longer but we are totally reliant on volunteers to do everything in the Gildhouse, including staffing the open days and... More

The children and adults a like thoroughly enjoyed the experience.thanks to all the volunteers we studied both poor and rich Tudor life. The children made bread, ginger beer and cob bricks. They also learnt Tudor dances and played Tudor games, all in all a great... More

We went on a visit to see the Gildhouse and were given tea and biscuits after we had had a guided tour around the top of the building. We then went downstairs and were allowed to try on some of the Tudor clothing which was great fun. A gem.

We recently hosted a wonderful birthday party for our mother with about 60 family and friends attending. The small team of volunteers who have restored this special Tudor building have managed to retain the building's magic, yet still provide a venue which comfortably accommodated our party. The Gildhouse looked stunning, inside and out, on the day making it a truly... More
