Really friendly you need to remember it's a lake and are not allowed to swim in it but £7 allows all day parking and kayaking there's a nice but pricey cafe, caters for gluten free menus and a lovely park.

Suffering typical holiday weather we thought we'd visit the upper lake to walk the dog, let our six year old grandson use the heralded new play facility and have some lunch. The parking was reasonably priced. The toilets were unpleasant. The walking was pleasant and easy. The play area, whilst not huge, was well presented and offered a good variety... More

A lovely peaceful weekend with no wifi. We camped, there seemed to be a lot of confusion about pitches not clear where pitch starts. When we went down to checkin it was clear to us someone else was on our pitch. It would be useful if outside the campsite there was a map indicating where pitches were. It appeared others... More

We surprised our son for his birthday and rented the glamping pod for the weekend. We were very surprised when we arrived as there was no-one else camping - we had the whole place to ourselves. The toilets and showers were clean and well looked after. We hired a Canadian canoe on the Saturday and spent a lovely time on... More

Our first visit and we walked part of the south lake (free car park). After having our picnic lunch we moved to the upper lake. We decided to have a coffee, but dogs are not permitted anywhere in the cafe. They should look at who uses the facility and cater accordingly. There were more parties with dogs than without. We... We visited the Lower Tamar Lake on a sunny May afternoon. The small car park still had plenty of spaces, and we enjoyed a walk to the bird hide overlooking the lake.

We came for a family picnic the pay and display parking was reasonable and the setting of the lake is lovely with it being surrounded by farmland. It was a quiet day with not a lot going on in terms of water sports and it was lovely spotting all the wildlife, however what took a bit of a shine off... More

When the sun is shinning and you have a space few hours there are few places nicer. Super walks around upper lake is 3 miles and takes about an hour. Stroll to the lower lake and aqueduct walk where you can walk along the old canal to Bude Cafe at the Upper lake, The Frog Hopper is awesome. Great food... More

As part of a tour with 30 split screen VW vans, Upper Tamar Lake gave us a great morning! Some of us set off in their kayaks, pedalos, canoes and paddle boards, whilst others walked around the lake. The staff were all helpful and friendly, the food was very good and the ice creams were excellent. What a lovely place!!
