This is a truly, to use the American expression, awesome building. The lovely lady and gentleman who greeted us at the door were charming. The interior is stunning and steeped in history. There is a gift shop, a small cafe and toilets and the most important thing given it's size is it is WARM. The temperature outside had been below... More

This really is an impressive building, outside and inside. The Priory is ideal for a shorter 'look around' or longer stay and study. There is an impressive programme of musical events through the year and the Priory choir adds much to the beauty of the Worship. Take time to wander around outside, towards the Quay and along Convent Walk. There... More

There has been a church on this site since the 7th century. The current building dates from Norman times, and you can see this in the great arches that line the nave. There are some remarkable carvings of misericords and the story of the miraculous beam and the unknown carpenter is really interesting. Friendly stewards are around, who will point... More

A very warm welcome on a wet and windy day. Was overawed by the history and sheer splendor of the Priory. A location to visit when in Dorset, do not miss out.

Not being a religious person I found this visit very interesting. Well presented history of the church. Large building for a small town.

Had a day out to Boscombe and Christchurch, there is a good bus service to most places from Bournemouth, I wanted to see the Priory as it is 900 years old, the Vicar showed me the first stone Blocks layed by the Stonemasons, it is a magnificent church so much to see, a must visit.

Visited when looking for a suitable location to observe the 2 minutes silence on Rememberence Sunday. Quite a nice gathering at the Remeberence Garden and offered an alternative for those not wishing to join the full service. The priory itself is in a lovely setting. Close to the river bank and easy to reach from the town centre. A really... More

Huge imposing Building, marvellous acoustics (I read a lesson at a funeral). Various friendlyPriory parish staff were in attendance. There is a good shop and delightful cafe run by volunteers, with home-made cakes. Also toilet facilities. I had plenty of time to look around on this visit, which meant I could study the place in greater detail, and this was... More

I was brought up in Christchurch from the age of 4 immediately after the second world war. My school focussed very much on The Priory and its history with regular “educational visits”. In later life attended many weddings and christenings there as my school friends progressed thru life. A fascinating visit and well with the trip. Also one or two... More
