Perrygrove Railway runs for 3/4 mile through farmland and woods on the edge of the Forest of Dean. Ride the steam train to all our activities including the unique Treetop Adventure - 5 houses up in the trees, fully accessible and safe - our covered picnic and play area at Foxy Hollow, an Indoor Village with secret passages, and a den-building area in the woods. See our collection of vintage trains (operating on two special days each year). Unlock a casket of treasure! Fun guaranteed. Picnics welcome - or enjoy our cafe serving sandwiches and light refreshments. Lots of special events, including days when Mr. Chuffity is here to show children how the Friendly Engines work and tell stories. Low cost family tickets - nothing else to pay (except the optional Treasure Hunt).

My two young sons and myself had a wonderful afternoon here! They loved the train rides, and even got to wave the green flag! We had fun finding the clues for the treasure hunt both at the stations and in the woods. I thought it was really special when my boys had to solve to clues to unlock the correct... More

This was the perfect day out to finish our family summer holiday. Perrygrove is an ideal small country park with several play areas for smaller children, picnic areas, friendly helpful staff and a lot cheaper then I was expecting for seven of us, put it this way for seven of us it was less than the price of one ticket... We had visited this yesterday but they don't allow dogs so made alternative arrangements today. Our children are 12, 10 and 3. The cost to get in is fairly standard but I noticed the cafe prices were very reasonable. However, we had been, well I had been organised and had taken a picnic. There are many places that are sheltered... More

This was perfect for our children, 2 and 5yrs old. Little ride on a stream train with a treasure hunt on the way. You get a key that works with a specific box and you must use your clue answers from the treasure hunt to work out which box hides your treasure. Our kids loved it! Nice cafe and friendly... More

We got a 20% discount when we visited but even with the discount I'd say it's too expensive for what it is. The staff were all lovely and the place was clean and you could bring your own food and have a nice lunch at the stops. The kids liked the train but other than that it was nothing special... More

A small train with little carriages this is ideal for little ones. It takes a little while and there are things to look out for enroute. There is a small group of buildings to explore with slides etc. also a cafe and inside area which is fun for little ones. Would recommend getting the activity pack for directed activities.

Very friendly, helpful and welcoming staff enabled us all to enjoy rides on the narrow gauge railway with steam and diesel engines. The girls enjoyed the treasure hunt on the railway which led to the intriguing search for treasure in the purpose built building. They both loved the tree-top castle, particularly the large, tubular slide. The smaller ground level play park... More

I stumbled across Perrygrove on Google whilst searching for things to do in the Forest of Dean, what a great stumble it was as we had a brilliant time! We spent approx 3 hours at the site on Wednesday 17th August and it was enjoyed by myself, my husband and my daughter, who is nearly 3, and loves trains. We... More

We had left home with the intention of visiting Puzzlewood opposite but kids fancied trains instead (Puzzlewood another day). Got there just after opening and very quiet initially. Kids loved the tree top play area and it was big enough for adults to go up and "supervise" (have a slide!) It is very well put together and suits toddlers to... More
