A perfect minor stately with an eye to symmetry and subtle grandeur. Warm welcome from NT staff who suggested walks for Truffle. Much of the estate welcomes dogs and there were plenty about. Fab walk up to church. Guides in the house eager to talk...More

This National Trust house was built as a "holiday cottage" for a wealthy lawyer in the 18th century. It is a relatively small property, but nicely proportioned. It's most noteworthy feature is the beautiful murals, painted by Thornhill, which dominate the entrance and staircase. Behind...More

We found this on the off chance when we were in the area whilst visiting family. It was a very sunny day when we arrived so we didn't look in the house, instead, I took my daughter on the adventure trail following clues on the...More

Stopped off on our way home and was greeted by friendly staff in the entrance. Enjoyed walking round the grounds and gardens but was disappointed by the disorganised and slow service in the Servants Hall Tea Room. Although we appreciate it can get busy, a...More

A lovely NT house to visit. Extensive well kept gardens with a magnificent parterre garden. There was an art exhibition on when we visited. Good cafe. Small shop.

Lots of paths to walk on and explore, chickens, bantams, cows and sheep in and around the house grounds and park. Also the odd tractor around too! Large cafe and indoor and covered seating areas with high chairs - we had no bother funding a...More

An interesting house and excellent tea room. Being NT members, we always visit when on holiday. Excellent as usual, but it could be better signed when visiting from the canal, as we needed our OS map to get there, as there were no signs canalised...More

I apologise for missing your question the other day. I would recommend staying over night in a nearby town and then visiting the hall. Redditch is close and so is Alster. Alster is small but very quaint and has some... More
