The gardens are superb, so we'll kept they gave to be seen to be believed. So much work must be done to keep them looking pristine. The house is beautiful, tours in the morning of the ground floor, we had a fantastically knowledgeable guide who brought it all to life for us. Some gorgeous walks, lunch was lovely, they do... Without doubt the gardens are the best part of this attraction. Compliments must go to the team of gardeners who have done such a beautiful job, not only in their preparation but also in their upkeep. They were some of the most pristine I have seen in stately homes. The house itself was interesting and I would recommend the 'Servants... More

This is a charming house and it contains stunning wall paintings telling the story of Achilles and his dodgy heel. There certainly are some beautiful rooms and the volunteers are very informative. Room folders offer even more detail. Regrettably, much of the furniture is not original, the previous owner having sold off most of it, but the NT has acquired... More

Come here often mainly meeting up with family to walk the dogs. Café great to sit and eat once the walk is over. Have been inside several times and it never fails to interest. But the reason for this review is the lovely facility for the children in the play area. My new grandson is only 16 mths but there... More

Well cared for house with such knowledgeable National Trust volunteers. A lot of the house is not available to visit but the rest is marvellous. The gardens are superb. Well worth a walk to the ice house to admire the trees along the way.

Hanbury is a very elegant house with lovely restored 18th century gardens. The upper floors of the house were not open when we visited (shortage of volunteers apparently) but the volunteers were very welcoming and knowledgeable and made our visit to the ground floor rooms very interesting. Good lunch at the Servants Tea Room! We visited 15th May 2017.

Whilst of some interest I found this house somewhat underwhelming. The provision of guides was unsatisfactory & one had to rely primarily on room folders. Some of the rooms were impressive - dining room, great hall, stair case - but others wee dull & so many alterations had taken place there was little resemblance to the original William & Mary... Fabulous house to walk around at you own pace with knowledgable friendly staff in each room to guide you through the history of the house. Fabulous scenery and walks around the estate with many different types of gardens to see. ( Take a picnic with you on a nice day) Thoroughly enjoyable day with lots to learn and lots to... More
