This is one of the many fortified manor houses, or 'bawns', in the area. This castle has quite a sizeable proportion of the walls of the main building extant but the footprint of the site is evident

Our visit wasn’t really pre planned, following a sign off the Belcoo road, but it’s worth the detour. Well preserved ruins, with a sad story from the time of the plantation.
There’s a nice walk round part of the lough shore which is probably about a mile and worth the effort. Good access around the site which kept our teenager enthused.

Interesting place

We visited Tully Castle while on a boat trip. It has a very sad history and would have liked to learn more but the little information centre was closed. We didn't see much of any gardens.

Interesting History
Aug 2020 • Couples
Arrived by boat and walked up from the jetty to view the castle ruins. Information board that tells you about some of gruesome events in the castle history from the occupants viewpoint. Nice walk around the headland back to the jetty after you have visited the ruins. Information centre/museum cottage closed possibly due to Covid (Monday visit). You can look in the windows and glimpse the few exhibits.

Grisly history
Oct 2019
We visited by boat from Enniskillen - which is a great way to approach it - the castle is a short walk up from the jetty. There is a good information visitor centre nearby, with some interesting exhibits. Admission is free and there is a ranger on duty. A number of panels tell the history of the place.
Tully Castle was built as a fortified house by planters in the 1600s and then destroyed in the 1641 rebellion, with a lot of bloodshed. It has been vacant ever since. Well worth the visit.

Beautiful

Well worth a visit. The history of the castle and the grounds make a fascinating experience. Lots of areas are accessible including the cellar which has a grim story to tell. A small castle in ruin but worth going to see. So many people just seem to drjve right past it. Monea castle ( nearby) is also worth a shout. Visit the two in a couple of spare hours.

We decided to visit Tully castle while visiting Enniskillen, definitely worth it if in the area!
Lovely surrounds and really good walk.
The drive up to it is quite narrow so be aware of this.

This is a very picturesque attraction and a lovely place to go for a walk on a summer evening. There is a lakeshore walk nearby too and and places for picnics. Well worth a visit.

Nice Ruine

Tully Castle is a plantation castle.
You can enter the grounds around the castle but the gate to have a look into the castle itself was locked
There is a small education plaque, we spent about 15 minutes there taking some lovely photos
