Superb locations
Oct 2019 • Couples
Magical and beautiful locations . Plenty of coffee stops ( but not towards Lantic Bay ) and pics that look more like the Mediterranean . Real holiday atmospheres with ferries to catch between Polruan and Fowey . Fishing boats and clear blue waters . Excellent coastal paths around Polruan in both directions to nearby multiple coves . These are not the locations for young families in wet weather and the extremely narrow approach roads can be ‘ tense ‘ if you are needing to get out and about ! Worth going to just for the Superb Cornish Pasties at the Crumpet Shop Polruan and huge pasties at The Quay Bakery Fowey. Recommend the Hall Walk in Polruan. Superb ice cream at Readymoney Cove! Note the small cove beaches are not dog friendly .

A great walk!

This mildly challenging walk involves plenty of hills but you are rewarded for the effort with fantastic views over the sea and surrounding coast. This walk can be done as a loop to and from Fowey, taking the Bodinnick ferry to one side and the Polruan ferry back.

A great local walk, with lovely views
Jun 2019 • Couples
This makes for a nice little half day trip, which could easily be extended further if you wanted. You have beautiful views of the harbour, and two ferry trips if you so wish. Lots of exploring, and lots of hills (be warned!). Highly recommended, only missed 5 stars as I'd say that some sections were not signposted that clearly, and we spent a bit of extra time meandering to try and find our way (though, I guess that's part of the fun, right?)

Wonderful views of the estuary
Sep 2018 • Couples
We took the Bodinnick from Fowey heading towards Polruan. We enjoyed the walk stopping off at the river Fowey crossing before going up to the Lanteglos Church, which is an old church with origins in the 800’s about 400 meters off the main path. The trail is quite wooded but there are several places where the views of Fowey and the estuary were good. Once we arrived in Polruan we took a detour to Polruan castle and also the cliff walk before heading back to Fowey on the Polruan- Fowey ferry. It is a moderately strenuous walk in places but certainly not too difficult overall. We also walked other parts of the south west coast path 30-45 minutes away which were much better but if you are in Fowey / Polruan for a short time this one is worth taking

Great views especially during regatta week!
Aug 2018 • Couples
Ferry from Fowey to Polruan, saunter round the narrow streets and then head off along the hillside. The walk is wooded from here round to Bodinnick ferry with a 2 mile detour up the creek to cross at the head of the creek bridge. Wonderful glimpses across the water to Fowey and more of a view of the enigmatic Place House on the top of the hill. Sit above Bodinnick for the best view of the regatta races. Return via the car ferry and back through the High Street. Give yourself a few hours and don't rush - a beautiful afternoon.

Great walk with a few pubs

Have done this many times and love the views around the bays.
A well marked and simple walk with a couple of ferries required and a pub at either end

A Lovely Walk
Feb 2018 • Couples
This is a lovely walk, mainly through forest, giving great views of the river. There are some steep steps and parts can get muddy in the Winter. Plenty of seats along the way.

Crouching below the national trust's southern path, Lantic bay offers a picture postcard view from every angle. As you have to navigate a very steep path to get down to the cove (and back again), it is not for anyone who is uncertain on their feet. The trust warns of rip currents, but we saw one brave soul swimming (in October).
