The Fowey river valley; an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with so many walkers/hikers, holidaymakers/tourists visiting the local town and nearby places of interest. The river has many interesting sites along the SW coast path, ideal for hiking and walking along the river banks and in the countryside surrounding the local town, I love it here... Tip; Head for Readymoney... More

Fowey town and the estuary are very pretty. Tight narrow streets, nice shops, lovely waterfront views on the estuary. Well worth a visit and lunch.

Stayed in Golant for the weekend with a room overlooking the Fowey, lots of bird life inc herons. There was also an otter or seal hanging around .. Can imagine its great boat watching place later in the season ... with lovely walks around the estuary and into fowey.

Pretty as its pictures and pretty much closed in February! Park at the top of the hill next to Fowey Hall and walk down - get the bus back for £1.50

This must be one of the best places to spend a winter break and have some R & R. The hotel is cosy and friendly with staff who make sure you have a pleasant stay. The view is outstanding and unlike so many holiday towns has not been spoilt by over commercialisation. This hotel will always be on our return list

Just enjoyed an excellent very relaxing break here, nice well furnished bedroom with some estuary views. Dining here provides first class fare, coupled with friendly and efficient staff. The fresh crab and the scallop starters are highly recommended.

Charming estuary and town, alive with history and character. Boat trips available and lovely spots to people-watch and crab fish. Don't miss the tiny old fashioned aquarium where you genuinely feel close-up and involved. Sadly the town's fish and chip shop has closed which we used to love!

Fowey is a charming village, but has some very steep paths and so may not be suitable for those who have difficulty walking. Easy driving distance for a number of attractions, including the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Helligan. Arrive early to beat the rush. Amazing sights when the cruise ships drop anchor beside the tiny harbour. The... More
