Beautiful building

On a week's holiday in Newcastle my twin brother Stephen and I decided to cross the bridge over to Gateshead and visit some of the great pubs in this area of the city, while walking down West Street I passed this wonderful building.
Gateshead Old Town Hall was constructed in 1870 by architect John Johnstone , he also built NewcastleTown Hall ,built in the Italianate style of architecture so prevalent back in the day, its a wonderful example of Victorian architecture at its best, over the years its served as a Town Hall, magistrates court and police station, plans are afoot to convert into a museum,I just loved the look of this building, the facade, the stonework and the general look of the building, it certainly commands your attention, best photographic opportunities are face on with the cute clock tower in the foreground, its a building I highly recommend you visit if you're this side of the River Tyne, easy to locate along West Street.

A Night To Remember
Sep 2015 • Couples
We went here to attend one of Eliza Carthy's Legendary Nights: La Rosa. Not far from the Tyne Bridge this wonderful venue is easy to access from the road network and has ample parking out front and nearby (no charges apply after 6pm. Free all day Sunday). Having arrived early we had time to venture across the bridge to eat and return in good time before the show. This attractive stone building has plenty of character and evidence of its former use as a municipal centre is easy to spot. The auditorium comfortably held the numbers in attendance and the attractive bar/café area was also used for part of the performance. For those interested, the bar includes bottles of real ale in its refreshment offer, and throughout the building staff are pleasant and helpful. This place is ideal for all sort of events private and public; and its advertised programme deserves to be supported.

This is a nice and beautiful town hall. I went to the event for Great North Run Event.
This is a historical building, I like the standing clock on the street.

Landmark for Gateshead. Some shows and performances held at the place. The building structure and the old clock is historical. The location is nice close to the bridge, trinity square, metro station, etc.

Best 40th Birthday Venue by a mile
Feb 2014 • Friends
We came across this gem which is now officially owned by the Sage Gateshead. It is the old Town Hall of Gateshead and is a beautiful building that stands proudly just down from Gateshead metro.

It houses a coffee shop, is beautifully designed and its homemade cakes are amazing.

We were lucky enough to rent it from the Sage to hold a 40th birthday party there. The staff are brilliant, the venue was gorgeous and we couldn't have asked for more. I've heard that there are even dungeons underneath the building!

We contacted the Sage via Claire Darcy who was incredibly helpful and friendly. I would recommend it for a good party, a wedding on a bugdet or a quick lunch if you fancy some down time.
