This local park has everything anyone could ask for. Character, somewhere to eat, quite cheap, plenty of places to have picnics. In the summer boating on the lake, Childrens play areas, birds to view. Walkways with seating for the older generation to sit and relax.

Lovely park and we were there on a hot sunny day. if it's busy sometimes it can be difficult to get parked nearby although the park does have a carpark. Plenty of walks and it has a lake , train, pets corner, squirrels, and a cafe with terrace. Fab for a walk or jog. Equally I would imagine it is... More

We went with family and our 3 year old who was amazed by the 'castle' and squealed with delight when he saw that you could ride in swans on the lake! He had so much fun on the bouncy castles. The adults thought the park was stunning and a beautiful walk to work off a large lunch! The only negative... More

we arrived at Saltwell Park on Sunday 17th July, Got Parked beside the Garden Nursery side of the park, plenty of space, great location to park, we walked towards the towers and there was a large green area, with Benches and seating for picnics, so we put our bags down two families of 4/5 people, and we had a game... Visit this beautiful oasis in the centre of Gateshead on a weekly basis with my grandchildren. There are lots of green areas for the children to play, a boating lake and 2 play park areas for small children and older children. In the centre of the park there is Saltwell Towers which houses a cafe with both inside and outside... More

this park is so huge it spins the mind with possibilities from a rampant imagination. the road taken to walk on this time was a new venture, a different entrance presenting almost a different park. walking through a canopy of lush trees, with squirrels casually going about their business with no care whether you approach them or not, and birds...
