An authentic and unique microbrewery in Hipperholme, serving 8 distinctive ales at any one time. Spotlessly clean and thoughtfully run, Cock o' the North provides an ambience second to none, the subdued lighting and measured sound system compliments the well appointed beer.

Some 180 different beers rotate along 8 hand pumps on the polished granite bar. Attention to detail belies the ordinary exterior, therefore a wide variety of quality spirits, lagers and ciders are served.

You don't get a bad drink at the Cock O' The North. Only selling their own beers and carefully selected lager and ciders this is a great venue. Friendly staff and a roaring fire is a great place to spend with friends and family or just to enjoy a quiet pint on your own.

Not the easiest place to find, especially if you don't know the area. Luckily I do and we came upon this place quite by accident when walking past about 6 years ago, It's on the main road from Hipperholme to Brighouse but if you didn't know that you should be looking out for a Portacabin you may have missed it!... It's great here, what you see is what you get. Looks like a porta cabin & the toilets are outside but it's cosy & comfortable, usually playing an eclectic but excellent selection of music. Real ales, nice lager & a coal fire kicking out heat & adding to the ambience. Highly recommend on a cold winters eve.

We stayed on the motorhome site next door and we were made most welcome by the staff behind the bar. A few samples were given before I made my choice but they were all very good! The bar itself had a good feel to it with friendly locals. We will be back!

Cock O' is a great little place with some great beers brewed on site, a good selection of Ciders and some decent German lager on fraught too. The staff are key to this place and always polite, friendly and quick to serve. Some of the reviews have mentioned dog smell.. I've never noticed and visit at least once a week.... More

Not my cup of tea. Smelt of wet dogs, not pleasant at all. I have a dog so I'm not anti dogs but I don't want to go out for the evening and sit in a room smelling of dogs. Have visited lots in the past but this has put me off and the toilets need a good clean.
