Lots of walks with woodlands to explore. A gentle walk around the reservoir finishing with a sit down on the Promenade to take in the fresh air and enjoy the scenery. One of the walks from the car park leads you on to the moors to the Druids Altar, where lovers kiss and leave offerings and love tokens. It is said that the love of those who kiss whilst sat on the Altar Stone lasts forever!

The Ogden Water Country Park & Nature Reserve is a wonderful place for a hike, or walk. It is so important in these times to get out of the house. Connecting with nature helps out with your positive mental attitude (PMA) - something we all need right now. There is a great circular path around the reserve and many paths that branch off. The paths that are off the main have some great inclines on the hills. The main path is relatively flat. The people walking the paths are so friendly. Almost everyone we walked past gave a greeting it was nice to have human interaction again.

The car park is limited. The sign states that it's £1 to park and to pay at the visitor centre. The box that the money would normally go in was missing on Sunday.

Very attractive local walking area with good paths and variety for all ages. Access road is quite narrow - and car parking could be limited at busy times. Disappointing that Visitor Centre and Toilets remain closed, 11 July 2020, (given that both could not be reopened under Covid guidelines.

Wonderful circular walk, about 2Km, so perfect with kids.
We went at new years, following a couple of weeks of solid rain, so it was a muddy surface, but was flat so nothing extreme.
Lovely picnic / duck feeding area.
Nice to have waterscape views, as well as sections of woodland on the same walk.

We walked the longer route using the yorkshire water route map from their walks website. It starts from the car park then heads up onto ovenden moor. Following the stream up to the moor is worth doing as the views are incredible. Then back down the path to the reservoir wall.
A great find which we will do again.

What's not to like about Yorkshire, the people, warm hearted and brilliant, this Country Park, beautiful..only thing not to like is (sometimes) the weather!..Coming from down South, I say that where the weather is normally better, but lacking the warm people and countryside.
This park is beautiful..weather was overcast but pleasant..on a sunny day..probably full of local people.

Really pretty place with a nice gentle walk around the lake. Great to just relax, take the kids, dog and a nice gentle path around the lake. Shame about the car park which was pretty rammed. Will definitely be back

Amazing walk around the lake in very beautiful location of a national park. This is in need of a toilet and maybe an ice cream truck/cafe part way around. It's a long walk without basic necessity s but its incredible if you bring your own with many Interesting trails to follow.

We highly recommend this place for a walk if you're visiting Halifax. I imagine it gets rather busy when the weather is good. It was really pleasant to stand and watch the local wildlife. A must visit for our fellow walkers.
