We stumbled across Pets corner during the pandemic in 2020 and we are so glad we did. This free petting farm is a great day out. We are about a 40 minute drive and it is well worth it. A walk around the grounds, a trip to a farm and then a play in the brilliant park next door. The farm is only small but you can have a great day out & the best part about it, is it’s free! We always make a donation when we visit as you can tell the animals are very well looked after and the staff are so friendly and helpful.
We recently hired one of their small conference rooms for my sons 5th birthday & for £25 we got the room for an hour, which was plenty for his 6 friends & 11 adults. It has a nice padded corner with pillows and cubes where they all sat and did pass the parcel, plenty of chairs and tables to set up, a toilet and a kitchen to make your own drinks. There was access to a small secure outdoor playground where we let the kids run around so we could tidy the hall. The staff were so friendly and very accommodating & we couldn’t recommend it enough. Although we didn’t, for an extra bit of money, we could of paid £7.50 per child to hold small creatures and to have a chat with a farm keeper. Thank you so much to Pets corner for helping us celebrate our sons birthday!

Beautuful park. Lots of well cared for animals. Brilliant day for any age and free!! Not sure which zoo emily eli of southend was at but i can assure you all animals are cared for. Pens clean plenty of food and water plenty of shelter. Pigs make noises! They even had a.mudhole to wallow in. Horses are only inside in bad weather. People like her annoy me. They paint a completely wrong picture. Bear in mind these places are regularly checked by animal welfare.
The only gripe we had was the cafe which by the way is very reasonable and lovely food overcharged us.by almost 4 pound for ice creams. Will def go back tho.

This is a wonderful Small petting zoo. Set in a beautiful green parkland. It is free to enter but donations greatly received in a collection point. Children have loved pets corner for 3 generations in Harlow.

Really sad and dont think we will be returning. Animals look tired & upset no shade or water was seen in this weather, the pigs were making really distressed noises, the horses were locked up stable looked too small no water was seen black horse was struggling to walk brown house was showing VERY CLEAR sings of depression (staring at a black wall for 30 mins straight). It was just very sad. To add not enough animals, cafe food/drinks poor in taste. Came home just thinking about the poor animals.

This review is about Pets Corner located @ Town Park, Edinburgh Way, Harlow CM20 2QG, United Kingdom. Nice place to go with children again 5 to 14, I would say its like a family day out place. Mare can be done to improve the life of the animals in this place with better & bigger cages. It would be nice to have few washrooms for the kids and aged people, perhaps convenient store for water and snacks. The entrance is free but we were not able to see everything as lots of gates were closed. Would love to see this place again with more improvement for tourists and the visitors of the place. Few limited car parking available at the site against a fee. Good place for nature & animals’ lovers

We had a brilliant 8th birthday party at Pets Corner. The room is spacious and clean, with an outdoor area, kitchen facilities, two toilets and a lovely soft play/sensory corner. The visit from the animals was great - plenty of time to interact with them, lots of support and encouragement for kids who were a bit nervous, and really knowledgeable and engaging person from Pets Corner leading the session (we had Stacey, she was brilliant). The whole team was friendly and helpful, and we appreciated having enough time either side of the party to set up and pack away. The price was excellent for the experience and facilities - very much recommend!

Such a lovely little place! Good range of animals & came at the right time to see new-born lambs. Highly recommended for a good hour or so entertainment for little ones. Nice play area for kids too & large grass area for picnicking. Can't believe its all free too! Plus free parking for upto 2 hours at weekends at School Lane nearby.

Visited here before with the grand kiddies over the years and slowly the palace is getting worse ,not sure if certain people are made to work there as a punishment by some of there language and they way they kicked some of the ducks out of the way quite possibly,
A lot of the animals had no water and cages full of over a few days of animal droppings In them they animals looked depressed and unloved not groomed etc ,I know winter coats fall off etc. it I worked for the RSPCA as a volunteer years ago so I'm not adverse to how animals should and can appear.
The fish area was filthy had not be cleaned clearly for days , a farm expect a certain amount of muck and dirt but this was beyond reasonable there where I counted 15 people all appeared to be contacted to the farm but only two working( council workers wud be proud) no supervision of the animals no one seemed to keep an eye on visitors ,one who I had to tell off for hitting the goat on the head,,
Yes the place is free but even some expectations are expected ,,
Are the rescue animals is that why some are In a bit of a state ? If so I think signs saying this wouldn't go a miss
Hopefully this is just a bad time or something for them and they are going to improve

I am sorry that you did not enjoy your trip to Pets Corner on this occasion.
The day you visited we had a large group of young people volunteering as part of a community day. I don't know if you may be referring to this group but we try to engage many people of all abilities to help and promote a good understanding and education in animal welfare particulaly young people. This is a very positive role in our involvement with the community and wellbeing of people. The group was very well supervised so suprised to think it could be them. Certain tasks were left for the group which may explain a couple of the smaller animal pens awaiting cleaning We do have many other groups of people who are visiting.
Our Reindeer are in moult at the moment as are some of the animals and do not always appear their best during this time. Particulaly the reindeer.
The staff work to a very high standard and follow animal management plans so our animals welfare are checked fairly regulaly throughout the day. All animals are given fresh water in the morning then topped up throughout the day. Its a shame you never brought this to a member of staffs attention.
I am sorry that your first review had to be a terrible one especially after visiting Pets Corner on many occasions.
I have noted your concerns and will investigate to ensure all visitors enjoy their visit to Pets Corner.

We are not a Pet Store so unfortunately we do not sell animals. You may be thinking of Pets at Home. Unfortunately I do not know their age policy, Sorry.

Just wondering if it is open at the moment or is it still being refurbished
Justin H
Harlow, UK
Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately Pets Corner is still closed at present to allow major refurbishment works to take place. You can still see some of the animals out grazing in the paddocks. We also have activity days being held throughout the summer holidays so people can still meet our smaller animals during the closure. We hope to open again very soon but please check our website for updates.
We apologise for any inconvenience during our closure.
Kind Regards Pets Corner.
