My family and I stopped here for a picnic and it is the most picturesque place to spend a few hours. Amazing wildlife and beautiful views. I wish I could have spend more time here.

We parked at Loch Leven Larder in the large car park and followed the signs towards the loch this highly popular trail goes right round the Loch Leven .Walkers ,Joggers ,cyclists ,dog walkers and nature lovers ,We are lucky today as a cool wind is blowing and there are no swarms of flies about. We come to a Graham stone marker and choose to go left and leave the Burleigh Sands for another day. The track winds its way through woodlands of Silver Birch ,Willow and Hawthorn ,there is a lot of new saplings planted to ensure a strong home for wild life . We cross the many feeder burns running to the loch .During the at the end of the season you will be able to watch brown trout making there way up to the spawning beds. Our conversation is interrupted by two low flying swans coming in over our heads. a squadron of geese land 50 yards away on the new grass in the field it must be lunchtime . we hear the occaisonal woodpecker but do not see them ,We do see robins, wagtails and swallows galore. It is a friendly trail with friendly faces We walked 90 mins out and 90 back it is a nice flat trail and ideal for walkers of all ages and it is wheelchair friendly
The bonus is being able to have a nice lunch at Loch Levens Larder

The diverse wildlife and views at Loch Leven are excellent. I cycled around the heritage trail which provided a great opportunity to experience all the wildlife and take in all the scenery. The paths were clean and well maintained and we were able to stop at the different bird hides at the edge of loch and different viewpoints on our way too. A fantastic place for a day out where you can grab a bite to eat at the boathouse restaurant, or just a short trip for a nice scenic walk.

For nature walks, it's an excellent site. Several hides to watch birds. The walk to the hill viewpoint can be a bit challenging for some but worth it.

This really is a perfect spot for relaxing and recreation. There is something for everyone to enjoy here. The cycle trail is splendid, 13 miles traffic free. It is also well worth walking the trail. There are a number of car parks located in the reserve for access. The RSPB visitor centre has good facilities overlooking Loch Leven. Historic Scotland at Kinross has a boat taking visitors to the island where Mary Queen of Scots was held captive in the castle.
Splendid place for a good day out.

I often walk my dogs round various parts of Loch Leven, the sights, smell and scenery are second to none. However as a responsible dog owner, I pick up after my dogs and then find I have to walk 2/3 miles for somewhere to dispose of my parcel. You have taken the time to put signs up asking owners to be responsible and dispose accordingly, but please, fulfil the task by providing bins to dispose of the doggie parcel... Making people walk for miles with a bag of ****, is not much fun. So please, all I ask is, please provide bins around the route. At present bins are like the preverbal Dodo...… Thank you.
