Hardly anything open, not sure if that was due to the recent covid situation or whether it was like that before but there were only about 4 shops in the whole place which were open. Would be really quite good if all shops were occupied and open for business

“ run down and needs a lot of TLC”
Sep 2019
After being here so many times it’s time for a review, but where to start? Let’s start with the good parts. Some of the small local businesses are amazing. The olive tree for your food is second to none for the food and the service. The planticrub is great to get your outdoor supplies and the bird food ect. Then you have scoop yet another hidden jem and you can’t miss it out along with them there is a number of others that’s fantastic too like the fish shop the butchers and hairdressers.

Now the bad parts and I am afraid there is a few, let’s start with one of the worst parts the toilets. Wow they are something else make sure and go before to visit here! The smell and the state of these are disgusting..... I need not go on about them. The mini market is average and you can get some things to keep you going but not a one stop shop. The post office/ card shop is ok but never seem to find what you want or need and the service well..... ok I suppose but seem to get better service in other shops / post offices.

One of Lerwick's better shopping areas
Jul 2019
On North road, close to the Evangelical church, this shopping area is visible at some distance because of its clock tower, a red-brown, square wood tower rising about 10 feet above the center's roof. There are multiple shops in the center, including a confectioner, a newspaper stand, a garden shop, a couple of restaurants and a general store. There is plenty of free parking.

Lunch

Great place for lunch or morning coffee there is a choice of two restaurants and a few lovely shops to spend your money.
The only broblem is the toilets they require a up date and a good clean.
Easy to get to ither by walking or by car. There is access at the bottom half for disabled person but no access to the middle section
Over all a nice place to visit

Busy but needs tlc
Sep 2018 • Couples
I was keen to visit after seeing it described online as a Shopping Centre with a list of shops and its own car park. What I found inside was a huge, rather scruffy building, and it seems that some of the shops have left. It was very busy in the 'corner shop' areas. There were many empty shelves, possibly soon to be filled with Christmas goods. What an underused opportunity this is! With advertising and plenty of information on the website, this can be an ideal start-up place for new businesses, and a place for existing ones which want a presence in Lerwick.

More for the locals
May 2018 • Couples
Just a little bit out of the main town, the shops here seem to cater for locals and not the tourist trade.

I was a little disappointed when we reached this shopping center. It was much smaller than I had expected. We went in and looked at the stores but did not find anything of interests. Maybe it was us looking for the wrong things at the wrong place. It reminded me of a general stores in the states.

has really gone down hill...

every time I visit, the cleanliness really lets it down, the toilets are filthy and never have loo roll, the kiddies rides rarely work and the sliding doors are a death trap, needs some serious TLC...

Compact shopping centre
May 2016
Functional shopping centre. A mixture of necessities and local crafty things. The best thing was Skipidock Inn café, which was excellent value for money and obviously popular with the locals.
