We did the Magnus Eunson tour with tour guide Leigh. He took us lots of places which were of the beaten tourist path around the distillery. All ending up in the tasting room surrounded by different whiskies and 6 or 7 drams for us to try. There was even a cheeky wee dram half way through the tour which was... More

Done a lot of distillery tours but this was by far the worst. Distillery closed down for summer [beware of this!] and last tour of the day, nevertheless the guide could have been less bothered about getting home! Felt we could have been shown the malt grinder [health and safety no no apparently]; seen this in other places in operational... More

Our tour guide James, was very friendly and very informative. We got to see a lot more than we have on other distillery tours, including where they warm the grain and the fires which burn the local peat. The old buildings are really lovely to see and it was fascinating to hear the history of how it all started. During... More

Enjoyed visit , I purchased a bottle of Highland Park with 2 glasses in a box for £35.00. The following day I shopped in Tesco in Kirkwall and the same was £26.00. I fully understand you are catering for tourists on coaches etc a captive group, but there has to be caution .

Hi there I fully understand your concern regarding the price of Highland Park in Tescos but can you please confirm if it was the same package with the glasses or just a bottle? We are bound by recommended retail prices and Tescos are not so it is not an easy one to solve. Kind regards Patricia More

This was our first ever distillilery tour, and although I am not actually a whiskey drinker, I really enjoyed the tour! Our guide was fantastic! He was very chatty and enthusiastic and happy to answer our questions. He made the tour really interesting. Added bonus was the whiskey tasting and beautiful souvenir glass! Well worth a visit!

Visited the Distillery on 1 July and had the Heritage Tour.Really good tour with a good guide and excellent value at £7-50.All staff in the visitor centre were friendly and would recommend to anyone visiting Kirkwall whether they are Whisky lovers or not.Shop stocks a good range of souvenirs at reasonable prices to help remember the visit.

We had a great visit to Highland Park distillery in marked contrast to that of Glenmorangie in Tain. The difference was that this place was real in every sense with traditional methods still used of turning the malt and burning the peat. One really got a good feel of the process and the history, in comparison with the more modern,... More

Even though it was raining, that did not stop us from having a great tour. It was interesting to see the peat kilns and the historic buildings. Great tasting at the end also.

We were true innocents about single malt whisky -- how it's made and even how it tastes. The tour changed all that for us. Our interesting and informative guide took our group (of about 15 people) through the entire distillery and the entire process. It was fascinating to see and fascinating to sample when we had our wee dram the... More
