Gordon and Sharon took wonderful care of us throughout planning, arrival, and during our trip to the Orkneys. Always professional, they accommodated our wishes in the planned itinerary, and quickly adapted when we requested small changes while there. We saw the great Neolithic sites of the main island of Orkney, visited the Isle of Hoy and hiked to the Old Man of Hoy and the Dwarfie Stane, and spent a day in Papa Westray island to see the Knap of Hower as well as the amazing birds on migration. Gordon is an engaging and lively conversationalist, we talked about Scottish history, life in Scotland, as well as anecdotes from his interesting life. We simply had a wonderful time, saw everything we wanted to see, and more.

Thank you Beth for your wonderful review and kind words. It was an absolute pleasure to spend a few days with you both which gave us the opportunity to see much more of our incredible Islands and plenty off the usual beaten track. As you are now regular visitors to Scotland, I hope you find the time to return and explore some more.

Britt was a wonderful, engaged, knowledgeable guide. Her pride in her homeland was evident. We saw Standing Stones of Stenness and the Ring of Brodgar. Britt brought history alive to us with her engaging explanations of the history of the stones and the area. This was followed by a guided tour of Skara Brae home to Neolithic farmers or settlers, then visit to the castle on the property. This was followed by a stop at the Cliffs of Yesnaby. The views were stunning. We then drove the Scapa Flow as she detailed the areas importance to WWI & WWII. She showed us Churchills barriers and explained how it changed island life for her family. She then spoke of the prisoners of war and the lovely chapel, the Italian Chapel, that they built using whatever materials were at hand and afterwards spoke of the warm and welcoming nature of the locals. We ended with a drive through town and dropping off those who wished at St. Magnus Cathedral.
Just a stupendous tour. Loved every moment. It was a great and busy day!

We were cruising on the Regal Princess and one of the ports of call was Kirkwall. We took the GoOrkney Highlights Tour half day shore excursion which visited several places of interest including Skara Brae and the Ring of Brodgar. This tour was excellent with lots of interesting information from Anthnoy the guide, and great driving from Billy. Although the tour was a little pricey, It was better value for money than any of the ships tours and did more.

We arranged our tour with GoOrkney independently from those offered by our cruise line. What a wonderful day we had! Our guide was superb, painting a vivid picture of the islands of Orkney, past and present. Our tour included major Neolithic sites, sites relevant to WWI & II ending with a tour around St Magnus Cathedral in Kirkwall..all unmissable and beautifully curated by our guide. We can’t recommend GoOrkney too highly. Get Going!

We had a great day with Antony seeing all the highlights that Orkney Island and Kirkwall had to offer. We were never rushed and yet saw plenty of wonderful sights and sites. The area is so full of history and Antony was more than happy to share his local knowledge. Well worth the cost. We would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to explore the vast history of the area or even just to have a wonderful day out on a beautiful island.

Gordon is an extremely knowledgeable tour guide for the Orkney Islands. We spent a half day with him in his 8 passenger van and visited many historical sights where Gordon explained what we were seeing. He provided ample time during each stop. Sandra was very helpful to help us book this last minute trip coming off a cruise ship. They even worked with us when our time in port was cut short by one hour.
This is a must see tour for the Orkney Islands!

Fantastic half day tour with Gordon , whose knowledge, enthusiasm and love of the island is amazing .
Even though our cruise ship cut short our stay on the island by an hour , Gordon was able to give us a unhurried tour of the archaeological and historic sites .
He took time to explain the importance of the sites and showed us details that we would not have noticed had we not taken the tour .
We had tried to book this tour before we left the UK ..and Gordon and Sandra some how managed to put this very last minute tour together (with us phoning from the ship and doing last minute transfer payments ). We shared the tour with some lovely Americans .
If you are looking to book a tour of Orkney then Gordon is your man ...with Sandra on the quayside making sure you know why to go ..a great team .
Our thanks to you both for making this a very special day .

Had a wonderful weekend trip to the Orkney Islands. Gordon was a wonderful guide- gave good details on the history and other information relating to the Orkney Islands and was clearly passionate about what he was doing. We managed to fit in a number of historical sites and also fit in birdwatching and managed to cover a lot without anything feeling rushed.

I can't believe how fortunate we were to find GoOrkney Tours! Gordon was an incredibly prepared, enthusiastic, funny, patient and knowledgeable guide. The six of us couldn't have been happier with our day with him, enjoying the beautiful surroundings and Gordon's stories. We can't recommend GoOrkney highly enough
