Wonderful views
Apr 2021 • Family
I took my toddler here on a spur of the moment trip and found it had everything we needed... amazing views, amazing rocky formations on the hill itself with perfect views on a clear day, a woodland walk, good little play area and lots of space for picnics. Really loved it as a different morning out for the little one.

Enjoyable hill side walk
Apr 2021
Enjoyed a lovely walk up towards the beacon then down hill, with lovely views and interesting wood carvings. At bottom of hill you can turn right and walk up past trees and cattle making your way back to the car park. It was guilt and people we saw were keeping a safe distance from each other. Certainly think older children might enjoy climbing the rocks, under supervision. Would recommend for a walk.

We arrived the place was packed the tables near the stone wall were too close together for social distancing the line for the queue not distanced properly and waited over an hour for some dinner it was because the poor staff were run off their feet with inadequate equipment like the chip fryer only did one portion at a time the toastier ran out and the were totally stressed I feel sorry for the workers

Parking
Dec 2020
Great place to visit, however they only have one parking payment meter, you spend more time queueing to pay for parking than you do walking!

Stretch the legs
Oct 2020 • Couples
This is my local place to stretch my legs and walk up a little incline. There are main paths that are good for pushchairs and more wriggly ones suited for taking small people on micro adventures. A fabulous place to visit for half an hour or all afternoon with a picnic.

Saturday morning walk
Oct 2020 • Friends
Lovely fresh air walk, hill is deceiving but worth it for the view! Dogs welcome as well as well and off leash as long as they are trained.

Cafe at the bottom is lovely and you’ll have certainly earned a treat when you get back down!

Stunning sculpture trail with hill climb and views.
Sep 2020 • Family
The wooden sculptures/ volcanic rocks/beautiful wooden playgrounds/ spooky labyrinth/highland cattle/toilets/history boards/den building areas/ice cream van on a weekend this place just kept on giving.
4 routes - we took the blue route from the lower carpark which involves a hill climb . The hill is worth it !! We did the blue route with a double buggy once the big hill was done it was either down hill or level. Even the labyrinth had decking boards so the pram could go through. £4 all day parking. Outdoor sinks on the toilet blocks. Handsanitiser by the ticket machines. Absolutely loved it - went tuesday then brought my sister and her boys back Saturday x

Be sure to cut into the upper carpark before descending as there is a playground behind the toilets and also a shaded picnic area with benches. You can easily walk past and miss it out.

lovely place to walk around
Jul 2020
Lovely place to walk around, can pay car parking fee with contactless card and sanitiser present. Would recommend parking in the top car park so that you can start at the top and work your way down, also tends to be less busy there.
