Great for gardeners, to admire the flowers, walkers, the elderly or families. I visited with my 3 young children and husband but unfortunately didn't leave enough time to be able... read more

Set in lovely countryside, the gardens overlook fields with cows so formality mixes with a more natural landscape. We visited the gardens on a lovely sunny day and wandered through the maze, the formal gardens and admired well-kept lawns and amazing mature trees. We didn't visit the house because we didn't have time but if you are looking for a... More

This estate is beautiful. The house is a family home and is lovely. The grounds and gardens are a joy to see. We had lunch at one of the Estates pubs - wonderful

The guided tours are very good and done at various set times during the day. Staff all appear to be part of the estate and are friendly and knowledgable about the hall and gardens, as well as the family background. Gardens are beautiful and there is a pleasant restaurant/tea room in the orangery. Have visited twice.

I think because the sun was shining it made a lovely day a beautiful one. Carers go free. I have an "invisible disability" and although I offered to show proof of it, I was told it was not needed, Because my disability IS invisible, because of this, for once, I was not put in a position of embarrassment. Well done... More

My husband and I have a session ticket for Somerleyton Hall and gardens and love to wander round the grounds and the maze. The variety of trees are special and there is always space to find a bit of peace and quiet. The tour of the house is very interesting and worth doing. The cafe has wonderful cakes and sausage... Great for gardeners, to admire the flowers, walkers, the elderly or families. I visited with my 3 young children and husband but unfortunately didn't leave enough time to be able to get around the whole of the gardens. There was a trail for the children to follow, a maze which entertained them for quite some time, a play park and... More

The Hall is only open for timed guided tours; we presented ourselves and had a delightful tour ... the ladies were very interesting, well informed and didn't hurry us at all - the tour does take approx 45mins and you don't actually see a great deal, only the ground floor and not all of it because this is a family... I have just visited Somerleyton and want to express my disappointment at the cafe experience. I paid £5 for tea and cake and expected ( as in the past when I have visited) , to be served a pot of tea and cake with a proper fork. When it arrived I was genuinely shocked to be given a paper cup... More

Visited on a hot sunny day. We had a Gardeners World card so got 241 entry on the gardens and just paid for both of us to do the house tour. The house tour is by timed ticked and is a guided tour which lasts 45 minutes. Good information is given on the history of the house and family and... More
