My wife and I visited the Maritime Museum on a Saturday in July and found it to be very interesting particularly about the herring fishing industry that this port was once famous for. The artefacts are numerous and the film shows very informative. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Well worth a visit.

Lovely little museum, only £2 entry feels too cheap. Easy to spend 1-2 hours looking at all the things on display. Very helpful and friendly people there as museum attendants. Interesting things and stories, a great collection. Nice little gift shop reasonably priced too. Lovely area and well worth a visit for anyone.

I am not a massive maritime fan but my partner is so we visited this week on our holiday and I was really surprised at how good it was. It is a small museum but they care so much and have packed so much in it really seems a labour of love for the volunteers who refurbish and look after... More

Almost on the seafront and on the edge of a verdant park this museum is full of so many different items you wonder how they have found space for them all. From maritime items used over many many years ago to old fashioned fishing items it even has a mock-up of Sir Christopher Cotterells workshop with his drawings, when he... More

Came here on the way home from our holiday and what a great little museum full of interesting items all layed out very well. Each item has a good description next to it. The section on the hovercraft was my favourite part. The staff were all helpful too. Well worth visiting here

So much to see in such a small but very well-organised space. The two volunteers on duty in the Saturday morning were very friendly and informative. Very interesting to learn so much about Lowestoft's heritage. Thank you.

This is at least the third Maritime Museum I have visited along the East Coast. They are all different and this is a really good one. Strong focus on Lowestoft - naturally - but so many small items with stories to intimate about their original owners. Beautiful collection of model drifters and other boats; a reconstruction of Cockerell's Hovercraft workshop;... More

Although very small, this cute little Museum packs a lot in!You're given a warm welcome (and ones'children too, which is not always the case in Museums!)and all ones'questions are answered as you look round.I imagine it could potentially become a tad cramped in the Summer, as it is placed in a pretty Lowestoft Park which is a popular place to visit at...
