The layout of the place makes it easy to walk through, stop and take in the numerous pictures, stories with the town. The demise of the fishing industry, later the ship building industry makes it more hard hitting for those who can remember this. However... More

Interesting place to go for a browse about Lowestoft's fishing history. The very pleasent "Lighthouse cafe "is near by which serves delicious food.

We were visiting this area in Lowestoft to walk the Scores so popped in here for some more information and were so pleased to find not only was the volunteer a local but actually once lived in the Beach Village and said how sad he was when most of the properties were demolished in the 1960s! He also pointed out... More

Had a lovely visit at the museum today, so much to see. Lovely to see the history up close and personnel as they say. Got mum talking about her family most of whom were in the local fishing community. Wonderful.

Discovered this museum whilst out on a drive. A very interesting insight into Lowestoft's maritime past, particularly fishing. The models of boats were brilliant. The volunteer staff were very helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit at a very reasonable price.

We visited this museum in Lowestoft and were very surprised and delighted by it. Lots of very interesting pictures and memorabilia of Lowestoft's fishing heritage. They also have videos of fishing trips showing the hard life of a fisherman and his family and the high price paid by them to bring us our fish. Admission was only £2 each, very... More

Worth the £2 entrance fee, very interesting little museum on a wet day, few little things for children to do also. We must visit these little places so they can keep going, so much interesting history that will disappear if they close

Great place to see the fishing heritage of Lowestoft. It is an informative and highly interesting museum highlighting the fishing industry of Lowestoft, now sadly almost non existant
