Explore the sights and sounds of Africa and discover lions, giraffes, rhinos, meerkats, hunting dogs and many more animals from the African continent. The spectacular centrepiece of Africa Alive!, our "Plains of Africa" paddock, is the perfect place to spot 5 species of African savannah animals, including our graceful giraffe and heavyweight rhinos. Enjoy a bird's eye view of our magnificent lions from "Lookout Lodge", and visit "Lemur Encounters", which gives you the chance to get incredibly close to our ring-tailed lemurs as you walk through their enclosure! Bird lovers can also enjoy spotting native species from our new "Wader's Lake Boardwalk". Discover some amazing facts about our animals during our exciting feeding talks and seasonal Bird of Prey displays. Climb aboard the free Safari Roadtrain for an entertaining journey around the Park. We went on an average December day and were delighted at the lovely setting. The lion and cheetah feeding with short explanatory talks were brilliant. The children were keen to adopt the friendly squeaking otters. The wide variety of lemurs and their antics was possibly the highlight of many to choose from. Definitely recommended and we will return.

After having second thoughts about another wildlife gardens in the area (didn't look well equipped for pushchairs and had no cafes open to feed our baby) we decided to take the 30 minute drive to Africa Alive and it proved to be a good choice. Really good range of animals, small enough to be able to walk back to the... More

Despite a wet and windy day we had a great family day out in the park. It was quiet so the animals were more visible and not hiding from visitors which meant we saw a lot more close up. Those animals taking shelter, like the Rhino's, were in their shelter and I had not seen them so close before. Ruth... More

We visited this zoo in September 2016 and thankfully the weather was good so we were able to enjoy all areas of the zoo. We have visited many a zoo/wildlife park in the U.K. and found this one to be ok but not great. It's fairly small and really not worth the entrance fee where other zoos charge the same... More

Lovely little zoo. We spent about 4 hours there and I think you would struggle to stay longer. There is a good selection of animals, Lions, Cheetahs, Rhinos, Lemurs and many more. Well worth a visit.

I've been coming here for forty years, on and off. It's not changed much in the last fifteen. Staff are fine, animals are fine but Africa has a bit more to see than this and in season the pricing is unrealistic for what it offers. I would love to see it reinvigorated as it's such a lovely site.
