About
Fairhaven Lake is one of the borough's most popular attractions. Nestled between Lytham and St Anne's, a salt water lake, positioned directly on the coast next to Granny's Bay and Stanner Bank. Enjoy the many recreational facilities provided, motorboat, canoe and rowing boat hire. For the less adventurous there is an electrically powered motor launch, enjoy the cruise and enjoy the scenery from the launch on a 10-15 min cruise. Lakeside facilities include a cafe and the RSPB Discovery Centre. The lake is one of the most important wildfowl locations in Europe, with a group of more than 250 Canada Geese, several Swans (including a solitary Black one) and many coots, water hens and other smaller fowl.

    Lakeside fun
Walked the beach walk from St Annes with my wife and daughter ( a mile or two) to Fairhaven. A lovely lake with motor boats for hire ( £10 for 20 mins, paid £ 20 for 40 mins) really relaxing easy enjoyable sailing, would recommend it. Lots of other facilities nearby to the lake, great for younger kids. Big cafe next to lake which as very busy. Lots of toilet facilities around. Really enjoyable afternoon

We so enjoyed our time in Fairhaven. The game of golf was great at £7 pp, as in the pic. The walk around the Lake was very relaxing and interesting seeing the bird life. Lots of things for families to enjoy... would defo recommend some time there.

    Great family day out
We go for a walk many times both together and with family and grandchildren. Lovely view of estuary and Granny's Bay. Great place for a picnic and grandchildren to play and go on the boats. Worth a visit even in winter weather permitting!

    Fun course
Dodged the showers today to play a round of crazy golf. The course is dressed for Halloween and looks great. They brought brollies out when it started raining. Great way to spend an hour - highly recommend it!

    Beautiful
We came across the lake by sheer luck, and I am so glad we did. The walk around it is absolutely beautiful with lots to do and see. Our 4 dogs really enjoyed here too, however please take notice of the warnings to keep dogs on leads. This is for the safety of them and the wildlife. We met a beautiful cocker spaniel who's human unfortunately didn't pay attention to the signs, yup you guessed it as soon as she spotted the geese and ducks her gun dog instincts kicked in. Straight into the lake trying to catch one for supper, with her owner follong her (waste deep he was) to save her from being attacked by the swans! Would highly recommend a visit if in the area.

What has happened to this gem? Vast bare patches of soil around the new paths, bowling green and tennis courts unplayable and Japanese gardens still unfinished. Barriers around some of the features still. The scum on the water by the public toilets at the southern end is both putrid and smelly. How much did the kids x 2 play areas cost without any revenue generated potential income cost let alone the liability insurance premiums. The new boats look nice, the crazy golf was busy and the re vamped cafe still isn't finished.. Un leashed dogs chasing wildfowl into the water isn't good but also unpoliced. Why spend loads on non revenue attractions while deserting cash generators that could pay for other upkeeps and even pay the non council litter pickers Not what it used to be from a sandgrown'uns point of view.

Visited friends in Lytham and then drove by the lake and decided to have a quick walk as it was late and starting to go dark. Looks like there was a lot of refurbishment of the sea front taking place close by and looks like it would be nice when finished. The part of the lake we past looked a bit tired and dull, perhaps it will look rejuvenated in the summer months.

Of all the years we’ve been staying in the Blackpool area (over 30), I’ve never been here. We ventured here one Sunday in October 2020. There is plenty of on street parking but it was quite busy on the day we went. We had a walk around the lake and saw the replica spitfire and the information boards at the spitfire memorial area which was interesting. There were a few different bird species on the water but the water looked quite murky and green. There was an ice cream van parked up so we bought an ice cream. There was a cafe but i'm not sure if it was open when we went.

Took our London relatives around Fairhaven Lake on a beautiful September day and they were bowled over. We were suitably impressed with the finished sea wall around part of the lake, leading to Lytham. An added bonus was the car parking was free as a thank you during troubled times. The place was buzzing with young and not so young people taking advantage of a gorgeous afternoon and some of the open facilities. There is plenty of seating and the cafe had been open. The ice cream van was making a roaring trade. The time will come when the boats will be allowed back on the lake. An excellent, leisurely couple of hours

Party of two adults, two children and the dog had a walk around the lake - play in the park - all including the dog had a ride in a motor boat and everyone had an ice cream at the end of the day. Toilets available and cafe if required. Whenever we go there have been events on. Croquet one Sunday and previously a small funfair. We always have a great afternoon.

Lovely place, fantastic facilities for children and families. However the huge numbers Canada geese on the lake is a concern. Particularly the amount of bird muck on the paths and grass. They are like small dog turds all over the place. Very unhygienic!!!
I would think very carefully before I let my children play anywhere near there. It's disgusting in some parts round the lake and near the boat house and cafe.
We are in a pandemic and concern about transferance of disease from animals to humans. Clean it up, it's such a shame.

Great place to have a leisurely walk around the lake. The cafe has now opened for take away food, which is just as good as sitting in to dine, there are a few picnic benches to sit on by the cafe or plenty of benches dotted around. The newly opened promenade has amazing views over the sea and lake and you can walk in to Lytham along the prom in around half an hour. Definitely worth a visit.

We had not been here for sometime but it gets better and better with the improvements. Some activities are understandably closed but the place was buzzing with visitors, especially dog walkers and pram pushers! Our parents used to walk round the lake so we have fond memories. The spitfire is still flying high and the older generation tennis players are still giving it a go!

We walked up to Fairhaven lake along the promenade. There’s a lake with ducks and swans etc. There’s a replica spitfire plane and bomb with some information. For the kids there’s a couple of adventure parks and skating/bike park.
Having worked up an appetite on our walk we were looking forward to some lunch at the cafe and were disappointed to see that they were only offering fish and chips, scampi and chips, sausage and chips or just chips! As someone who doesn’t like chips this a huge disappointment.

Fairhaven Lake is based just next to the Ribble Estuary so the walk around it gives lots to see. The area around the Lake is undergoing a huge facelift so by 2021 it will have gained a new cafe. There is already a play area for young children and recently opened adventure golf and a brilliant adventure play area. Birds galore to watch. New paths being created. Lots of parking areas. Lovely place to enjoy the fresh air. Can’t recommend it enough.
