What a fantastic day! My ten year old son had the challenge of handling the lively dave (hawk), my wife had the more mellow but noisy caasey (barn owl) while myself and daughter were there for morale and pictures! The place itself is unique and fascinating with an extensive variety of birds. The handling experience was superb, enhanced by tom's knowledge, enthusiasm and humour (cracking jokes!). All round a really enjoyable visit and we shall definitely be returning and reccomending it to friends

Despite a wet day this was one of the most enjoyable few hours I spent in a while. My wife and I opted to pay extra for the woodland walk with one of the birds - my wife took an Eagle Owl and I took a Harris Hawk (although we had to walk a few metres apart - the birds don't get on). Our humorous and engaging guide, Tom, gloved us up, showed us how to befriend, handle and stroke our birds, and guided us on our woodland walk, all the while providing interesting information on the birds and the centre, as well as answering and questions. Hour long walk (with a break for a sit down) over, we then had the opportunity to have these birds fly to us to take food from our hands. It was lovely to be so close to these majestic birds. We then rounded off our visit by walking around the various enclosures viewing the birds the centre looks after. It has to be said the focus of the centre is on looking after the birds rather than flashy visitor facilities - somewhere to wash your hands and a portaloo in the car park were all you can expect, but if you fancy refreshments I can recommend the tearoom at Barnsdale Gardens, 5 mins drive away. The centre has done all that can reasonably be expected to be COVID-secure, and for an interesting and diverting few hours you could do worse that pay the centre a visit.

Just spent the best couple of hours here - I bought the experience for my daughters birthday and went as a spectator & photographer to capture her experience! I am frightened of birds - so a strange experience for me but I absolutely loved it and my daughter said it was the best birthday present ever. The staff were lovely and very engaging with all who attended and the surroundings were beautiful even on such a grey day - glad I wrapped up and wore sturdy boots for walking through the forest following the other guests who were also on the experience and handling the beautiful birds which ranged from Falcons, hawks and owls under the watchful eye of the staff - Tom who lead the day was an absolute mine of information on all the birds and really engaged with all who were there and made it a fun, fact packed 2 hours - but be aware he does tell the worse jokes ever!!!! All in all a great day out, would definitely recommend and would do this again - looking forward to the next one and seeing the big cats experience.

A wonderful place and such caring owner and helper. Spent hours watching the birds and invited to see the leopards plus a presentation which was awesome. Such caring helpful people obviously they love looking after their guests. Would recommend to everyone who visits this area cannot praise them enough and you will get some fantastic photos.

We called in here as we were in the area and are so glad we did. Greeted by a lovely gentleman with a wealth of knowledge who lived onsite. It was a drizzly day and a bit eerie being alone walking around through the wooded area's, but it was lovely to see the birds and read their stories. Well worth a visit. Keep up the good work and we do hope to return to spend more time with the birds and learn more. For a small extra fee you can get close to the birds and handle some of them too, why not book time to fly one.
