Can’t wait for truffles to reopen - hopefully with delivery again. Pre lockdowns we frequented for salad boxes paninis - and of course the obligatory homemade cakes. The staff and owner are always friendly and stop to have a chat even if busy and they always talk to the children - making them like the place even more than the sticky biscuit cake and caramel shortbread did already! Some of the additional shelved items can be pricey but supporting local business is better than being overrun by chains and there is always something different and outside of the ordinary to be found. We have sampled from the small selection of breads before too and quiches, cheeses etc in the ‘deli’ counter - always top quality and very tasty! The courtyard is lovely too and like a small escape from the town.

They may have lots of nice stuff but if the staff done register your presence and serve you there is no point. 1 star is generous

Firstly, we’d been here several times two years ago and loved it. Remembering that, on Friday we drove across country to Symonds Yat to go canoeing and so I thought I’d try calling the deli in advance to order a take-out lunch. They were just so helpful and friendly. Over the phone they patiently ran through their menu, took our order of sandwiches, crisps, cakes and drinks, took the payment - and because traffic made us late, they even took it out onto the road to hand it to us when when drove by. Incredible service! The several staff I spoke to were very friendly indeed - all just heart-warming! And in all honestly, the food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. I seem to recall from our last trip that their coffee was very nice too. All just outstanding!

We stopped here to find a sandwich whilst on a day out in Ross on wye. The staff were all super friendly, and even though we had the dog we were allowed in with him and he was given a treat - the goats cheese sandwich was absolutely amazing, and also the freshly made sausage rolls! Worth a visit.

Ordered a sandwich to take away asked to wait in the courtyard to the side of the Deli. With it taking 15 minutes to get our sandwich the small courtyard filed to capacity quickly and social distancing became impossible. Food was excellent and not over priced. Given the crowds in Ross over the peak holiday period I would suggest giving it a miss due to the lack of space around the village and none existent social distancing , if your grabbing a bite to eat from the Deli head down to the river to eat your fare crowd free.
