There was a real hint of not taking life too seriously in the selection of books. But there was also a feeling of experience and interest by the staff

Whilst away in Ross on Wye for a work's event, I stumbled across this absolute gem of a bookshop. Despite them not actually having what I was after (not their fault at all, it was an out-of-print book and hard to get hold of,) the chap behind the counter went out of his way to try and help me locate... So lovely to have this wonderful 'proper old-fashioned' book shop on the doorstep in Ross. Rarities plus recent books across all genres. Plus great prices!

I visited Ross Old Books today and what a great Book Shop! The building is perfect for a Bookshop and looks like something out of Charles Dickens. Their stock is excellent and very good prices, they also had a back room with all subjects repeated for £3 and under!!! I spent an hour or so in this shop and could... More

I have visited this book shop many times over the years - an excellent selection of second hand and antiquarian books - plus maps, prints and cards. The owners are unfailingly knowledgeable and courteous and it is always a pleasure to browse - whether you come away with a treasure or not!

What a find. Run by a welcoming couple. The books are well laid out with a wide selection. The local maps and prints make great gifts. I spent a cosy wet afternoon exploring with some good finds to take home.

Ross Old Books is an amazing traditional second-hand and antiquarian bookshop with something for everyone. The £3 and under room is particularly popular. The general stock is enhanced by a large collection of books on art, antiques and collecting and a good range of Folio Society editions. The ephemera cabinet is always worth a browse and they also sell old... More
