There is no doubt this has one of the best positions and views in the uk. It’s tranquil setting and utter peace is a great antidote to a busy life. The recent refit has added a chic interior and the rooms are well appointed. The...More

The staff are very pleasant but there appears to be no organisation or management. The hotel is in the process of a major upgrade and modernisation as a result of which one has to face metal storage cabins, builders machinery and supplies to one side....More

gorgeous beaches with good waves for body boarding. Great walks, very unspoilt. Mostly used by locals. Free parking, but a long walk down to the beach and slightly treacherous for little ones. Well worth the walk though, if you are athletic!

Got the passenger ferry from Salcombe to East Portlemouth and walked to Gara Rock through woodland and the coastal path. There are alternative routes on the coastal path, and found the higher path to be easier with less climbs and descents. Had a snack in...More

This part of Devon is certainly not Motorhome friendly! With many single track roads. Parked in the National Trust car park near the beach opposite Salcombe, very narrow, would not make that trip again! Took the small passenger ferry over to Salcombe and found both...More

Went to East Portlemouth last weekend with friends with the sole intent of having Paella on the Beach. My gorgeous wife prepared all the ingredients the night before, including the stock, and we headed off at 08:00 from Cheddar. Arrived approx 10:15 parking at the...More
