We travelled from Dartmouth to Tavistock just for some sausages! They really are that good from the butchers in the market, they make their own. This market together with the Pannier market provides a great selection of food and some interesting curios. I am glad that I do not live here because I would be as fat as a pig.... More

Having previously visited Barnstaple pannier market I was expecting the same old tat, but no, this is so much better. The artists stalls in particular were brilliant, with the artist in residence working while you watch. Lots of places to eat and drink too, well worth a visit, don't bother with Barnstaple though.

I just love Tavistock Pannier market. It's cheerful and vibrant with really good quality stalls selling books, hats, antiques...you name it. It's easy to spend a good hour or more just browsing. If the weather is inclement at least it's under cover! Lovely.

A small number of stalls selling foodstuffs, plants and miscellaneous products. Only bother visiting if you are coming for another reason!
