A small but interesting friendly market

A small market but all of the traders were friendly and had good quality local goods. Right next to the indoor market and town hall where there was a craft fayre on.

We visited on a Saturday in October. It was set up outside of the Pannier Market. There was only a few vendors set up. There were a couple selling homemade bread, some meat, some plants, a couple selling fruits and vegetables. I'm assuming that there would be a lot more on offer during the summer months but, what was on... More

It was fun to roam around the market which is filled with fresh vegetables stands, prepared foods, antique collectibles, crafts, and a variety of local wares, all inside a beautiful old stone building that looks to have been converted from maybe a barn or stable into the market.

We chose craft day to visit and enjoyed an hour's rummage round. The market is closed on Monday and changes slightly each day.

If you are in the area this is worth a visit it is undercover and you can spend an hour exploring the Aladdin's cave of stalls and try a bit of bartering to get a deal Also various cafes just outside for tea and cakes break

Im my Opinion: You only need to visit this venue "just the once" as the range of goods is a boring -dull and uninteresting. Same dealers that are always looking fed up and miserable - I'm sure they are there just for "something to do" - and the prices being charged are there to reap as much profit from the... More

We have visited the Tavistock market many many times. It always has something to offer....books, excellent fudge and sweets, pottery chickens, exotic fleeces, antique jewellery...a superb cheese shop and many others. A must visit in Tavistock.

Great range of produce to be had, all fresh fruit and veg, some nice people to chat to, nice to just wonder around and see it all.

Visited yesterday, have to say it's small but has a perfect mix of all sorts of really nice and interesting stuff. The bread and the bakers with their fabulous pasties and pies, the greengrocer with beautiful really fresh looking items. There was even a lady giving samples of a pony meat burger - I know you are all saying WHAT,... More
