Sad to see it go.

This pub has been here for over a hundred years but now closed for good unfortunately. Had some great nights here but now to be knocked down and flats built instead. How sad.

By far the best pub in Uckfield
Aug 2018 • Friends
It's the best old fashioned, or should I say traditional town pub ad in my opinion the best overall pub in town. doesn't have the vastest range of beer on offer but they always have Harvey' Best or one other local ale on tap. Lovely staff and land lady and a pleasant and friendly clientele. If you enjoy a bit of local musical talent check out the open mic night on a Thursday.

Great Sunday roast.
Nov 2017 • Family
Went yesterday for Sunday roast with my Husband, son and Grandaughter. This is our second visit for Sunday roast. I would highly recommend it. We booked early as they had a big table in just after us. We had chicken and pork. It was fantastic. Half a chicken per person and a generous helping of pork. It came with roasties, parsnip, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots. Plus a generous Yorkshire pud. Very well cooked. All the veg had a good bite to them. There was a good selection of desserts. Sadly I couldn't fit one in!! Well done to Helen and James. This is a great locals pub. Everyone is so friendly. The atmosphere is fantastic. We will be back. They supply doggy bags which was the case with my Grandaughter.

Special evening
Feb 2017 • Family
We went to Dinner on Sunday night. It was a special evening as our son who managed to get to the semi finals of Masterchef last year cooked a four course meal for specially invited guests. He did the four courses that had a special meaning for him. We had a tomato starter, followed by brill. Next came steak and last but not least, calvados custard. It was enjoyed by all who attended. This is a lovely friendly pub and ideal for little ones.

Lovely food and a bouncy castle
Aug 2016 • Family
The pub serves good pub food and has a nice enclosed beer garden with a bouncy castle at weekends. They have a pool table and darts. Not loads of seating inside but a good amount outside.

The best genuine pub in uckfield
Jul 2016 • Solo
Very good beer, a weekly changed guest is offered.
The interior has been tidied, but not eroded of character, as per the nearby highlands.
Exterior, is charming Edwardian working mans public house and nice flowers and seating areas, with pleasant views at front, over allotments and beyond. Nice to see that the owners make areal effort to be in tune with local people, rather than greedy eatery type place nearby; commendable, friendly welcome, always.

Good pub
Nice local pub. Great in Summer for families as on good sunny days they have a bouncy castle in the beer garden. Pool and darts available. Friday night fish and chips is great.

Old fashioned pub!
Nov 2014 • Solo
Popped into the Brickmakers for a sandwich lunchtime, had a reasonable pint of Badger. Food menu old fashioned pub grub and priced as such. I thought my tuna baguette was a bit lame as it was a part baked supermarket job and came with no form of garnish at all! When all is said this is an old fashioned locals pub with pool table, satellite t.v and a "too loud for lunchtime" juke box.
