    Beautiful gardens
Beautiful gardens and a lovely park for little ones. The house would make a perfect wedding venue and the gardens amazing backdrop for photos. Parking was awful when we went but it was the height of summer !!

    Great family day out
Fabulous family day out. Visited for the first time with our toddler and had a great day! £4 for parking isn’t too expensive and especially when entry is free! The children’s zoo was lovely and the park had lots to keep little ones occupied. Really well looked after and easy to spend a whole day there looking round. Will defo be returning!

    Decorous
In rolling pasture stands a decorous and elegant mansion. In lovely brick it originates in the mid 1830s and was constructed for Sir Gilbert Greenall, 1st Baronet, brewer and Member of Parliament. A park that is voluminous was grand for strolling around, in the pleasant evening sunshine. But the focus was the delightful build. A fine clock tower has four levels with the multi faced clock at the apex, surmounted by an ornate metal apogee.

Country Park packed with fun activities and beautiful gardens
There is so much to see and explore at Walton Hall and Gardens it's a brilliant place for a family day out. It sits on the Bridgewater canal with lovely views and canal boats going by. There is a large pay and display car park right outside. Entry is free, once inside there is a huge amount of space to explore, nature trails, woodland walks, duck ponds and flower gardens. There is a children's zoo with farm animals, a large play area suitable for all ages and there's also miniadventure golf and pitch & putt (additional charges for this). There was also the recent addition of a treetops adventure park (this is around £15pp). There's a large hall and heritage centre plus a lovely cosy cafe. Many events are held throughout the year including food fayres and Christmas events all of which have been amazing that we've attended. We visit regularly and would highly recommend.

    Brilliant
It’s a brilliant place, lots to do from a big park to animal zoo (small) crazy golf etc but large green space and wooded area. Parking nearby £3 but you could spend all day, usually a ice cream van hovering also. Site does have a cafe but it is overpriced for what is, avoid and get to a butty shop before you come

    Alpaca walk
What a lovely experience taking the Alpaca for a walk. My family were lead by Kyle, who was knowledgeable about the Alpaca but also about the plants snd the history of the hall. Who knew Warrington had some giant redwoods! I would highly recommend to anyone who loves animals.

    Jungle Parc
Well what can I say, it was brilliant from start to finish! We went with our 2 girls age 7 and 11, as we got there we were greeted by the staff who were amazing. They showed us the safety side of things and we immediately felt well looked after. The whole course lasted a lot longer than I expected and the kids didn't even get bored! It was well worth the money and I would definitely recommend going.

    Really Enjoyable Alpaca Walking Experience
Absolutely Fantastic Christmas Present Stuck for ideas for a Christmas present for my daughter and her 2 children, I came across the Alpaca Walking at Walton Hall Gardens in Warrington. Realising what a fantastic idea this was I booked a private session for a Saturday morning in February. Luckily the weather was dry, mild and bright but I don't think the rain would have dampened our spirits. We were met by Kyle one of the zoo rangers and as we were to find out he's an expert on all things alpaca. After being introduced to the 3 lovely alpacas Topaz, Jim and Mally, Kyle gave us some instructions on how to walk them and also told us about the character and nature of each of the alpacas. His depth of knowledge about the alpacas was second to none and all the facts he imparted to us were interesting and informative. The walk takes you around the grounds of Walton Hall and Kyle gave us lots of information and interesting facts about the hall and its grounds. The walk takes place earlier in the day before the park gets too busy. Bring your wellies if the ground is sodden, you'll need them! The present was a big hit with my daughter and 2 grandchildren, one of whom has additional needs and didn't stop smiling all throughout the walk! Plenty of photos were taken by us and Kyle helped by taking photos of us all together. After the walk we had refreshments in the on site cafe. The red velvet slice had been recommended by Kyle and he was right, they were delicious! We all had a great time and I would definitely recommend this experience. It made an absolutely fantastic Christmas present.

Taken my grandson here for a few hours, such a lovely place, lots to do. Small Zoo which closes at 4pm while the Covid virus, you can purchase peacock feathers for a £1 in there too, there's a Thomas Tank Engine train fide which was £2 per person which lasted about 5 mins well worth it they have a cafe which the prices were abit steep, (take own sandwiches is recommended) miniature golf, forest walk and a beautiful mansion house which used to be owned by Lord and Lady Daresbury.... We had a fantastic, had an ice cream from the ice cream van ended the day nicely.

We visited on a grey Sunday afternoon in August. We had prebooked Crazy Golf (with Groupon).
It was a dull day but the park was absolutely rammed - hundreds of people!
There was plenty of space to park the car in the overflow car park (costs £4 on a Sunday!)
The changes due to COVID were clear but were managed really well. There was visible signage and other noticeable changes to playground equipment and one way systems.
The playground was busy but the children loved it and had loads of fun! Our children are 5 and 9 and there was plenty for them to try!
The zoo was excellent. Loads of animals to see.
the ice cream, which took contactless payment, was reasonably priced and was good quality.
The gold was excellent and would have been good value for money even if we didn't have vouchers. When we booked we were given a time, but due to spacing people out on the course they couldn't stick to the times. We ended up starting more or less on time, though. The children really enjoyed it. It was George's first time and he gave it a good though. Lily (9) was able to give it a good go.
An excellent visit - we will definitely go back.

Absolutely shocking customer service !!!! Me and my partner viewed the hall which we initially loved . Ryan who showed us around is amazing and us under utilised by the company but that's we're it ends . Contacted the hall originally on the 15th of July to get a price and book a date they took my email and phone number to speak to the correct people and get back to me . After a few days nobody had tried to contact me so I called again . The staff I spoke to took my details again and said they would forward it to a correct manager. Still nothing. Then I called again and was told that I would have to call the catering company( carringtons ) as they controlled the price. Spoke there receptionist who once again took all my details and requirements and said that I would be contact after the weekend on Monday 19th , 20th of the latest . Still nobody contacted us . I called on the 20th and spoke to the lady who runs the company ( Helen) who promised me they would contact me before the weekend with details and prices . Once again the weekend passed . Nearly 2 weeks after I eventually got a price which was an estimate as its 2023 we was booking and they couldn't be sure . I find this ridiculous as you wouldn't pay anyone a deposit on a price that they could realistically make up. Not once did walton hall email or call us . We had to call , email and pester to just get a price out of them and when we got it it seem a joke. Nobody from the hall seem bothered about anything apart from Ryan who showed us around . If they can't respond to calls and emails about just a price . Would you trust a company to plan your day ?? Definitely not . The excuse we used was . Someone said they would call you or pass the details on to a manager . This place is beautiful but I would trust them to organise a simple email or phone call let alone your big day

Love this place great walks & a really great family size zoo, the garden is in full bloom at the minute & fantastic the staff should be very proud of themselves.
Yes the zoo may be closed but as your outside the zoo & walking around the sound of the animals is lovely to hear.
Down side to this place is the car park, think it should be staggered into 1hr,2hrs,3hrs & then an option for all day as at the moment you can only have one payment for the parking.
On the plus side I payed for the car park at home on the app while on WiFi & not there trying to get it sorted with no great signal or machines not working.

We love walton gardens and are lucky to live 1 mile away so we visit alot.
We came on Tuesday and the playground was rammed all kids right next to each other we walked straight through and to the zoo which was organised.
They should close the park or supervision on the gate. 1 in 1 out. The parents are to blame and older kids should know better.

Walton hall is easily somewhere you could spend the day. We went on a hot day with 2 kids (9 and 5) and spent 5 hours on site. There is plenty to do with the attractions available including - Crazy Golf, Pitch and Putt, Crown Green Bowls, Jungle Ropes Adventure, playgrounds and some walking routes.

There is an on site cafe - mostly stocking for sandwiches and drinks, cakes ect, faiirly standard fare. The service was nice and friendly and didnt have to wait to long to get served. Plenty of outdoor space for picnics as well which was great to see.

The site was very clean and tidy, and it was obvious with the maintiance staff on site that they were keeping the place this way.

Only real complaint I had was with the car park. The advertised contactless Pay and Display wasnt working, the parking App wasnt working, and the phone number to call to pay over the phone wasnt working. With no cash on me, and no cash machine in the area that we could see, it was quite a lot of faff to finally get a ticket. Other then that, top day out and we will visit again.

Car park £3 for all day brilliant price we paid cash
Visit 2 grandparents 2 children aged 9 and 3

Big play area for the children & there are toilets there, which in view of the amount of people were clean.
There is a ice cream van plonked right by this area my grandchildren chose ice cream cones at £4 each
There is a little Truck Thomas the train that’s £2.50 each irrespective of age it’s a very short ride
We did pop into the cafe for 2 drinks a toasted sandwich and a ice cream totalled £10 few shops in this area and more toilets
Lovely formal gardens, forget me not gardens, pergola which is licensed for marriage services, we tried the bicycle museum but it’s closed in the week.
Went round twice looking at the animals
All the grounds were in great condition
We spent a very nice 3 hours there but could have spent a whole day, but we were so hot
A lovely place to visit but do be prepared to put your hand in your pocket

Came across this hidden gem when in the area to visit Gullivers World, and needed somewhere to spend a few hours with the kids the afternoon before. The free to visit zoo was great, as was the play area. We bought some food / drinks there which was reasonably priced, and given the only cost to visit the park was for the pay and display parking, we were more than happy to spend a little in the cafe. The day was very hot, so the fact the park offers plenty of places to take shafe was also a bonus. Would definitely recommend.

We went today and it’s great as usual! Just a warning though that the car park payment machines only take cash (£3) with none accepting contactless. After a year of not using cash we’d have been stuck without 40p from a passerby!! There’s the option for RingGo but no phone signal either. Great once we’d overcome that hurdle!!

A brilliant evening out. In recent years we have been to local light shows but I have always felt like these are over crowded and so busy you cannot enjoy your evening properly. We booked for the 4.30 slot which was perfect as it was already going dark, the trail is beautiful and I especially liked the interactive parts for children. I hope Walton gardens put Lightopia on next year as we really enjoyed it. My little girl really loved the fairy garden & all the staff were very polite.
