We popped in today for a few bits and breakfast as we were starving.
I was surprised to see the farmers bfast @ £9.95, but as I said, I was hungry. My wife had the mini.
I was asked at the till if I wanted beans OR toms and my reply was obviously “at £10 my heart won’t let me pay for any extras”
It came, 2 bacon, 2 sos, black pudding, 2 poached eggs, 1 with a piece of shell, which I didn’t order as an extra, a COLD mushroom, 1 luke warm toast.
I then refused the £2.95 cup of tea and the complimentary tap water, as I was still quivering at being asked if I wanted extras on a £10 breaky!
I’m getting grumpier as I get older and only writing the review as after a completely satisfactory meal, I felt a little out of pocket, not to mention the added egg shell, the coldness of both some of the food and the counter staff.
On a brighter note, their sausage rolls are the best in the world and you can get them freshly baked at the deli counter or uncooked and frozen for you to cook at home, which come out fantastic! I deal as a keep in the freezer for parties etc.
As long as I don’t get barred for this review, I won’t be going back for bfast, but will return frequently for the sausage rolls.

Visited today to catch up with friends. Tables in pleasant Restaurant were well spaced out. Outdoor seating also available.
We started with Morning Coffee and chatted until the Lunch service started at 12pm.
My Lunch of Quiche with New Potatoes, Coleslaw & Salad was very enjoyable. My 3 friends were very happy with their meals chosen from the good selection of food on offer.
We found all the staff we had contact with helpful.
After time spent looking around the extensive Farm Shop my daughter and I returned to the Restaurant and enjoyed Plum Crumble (fresh Victoria Plums of course) and Custard.
I look forward to my next visit here.
The Afternoon Tea looked delicious.
I would be delighted to eat here again.

Visited the tea room for afternoon tea for my Moms birthday. We thought the selection was brilliant for the price and you could tell the food and cakes were all fresh! We had tea offered to us immediately on arrival but the afternoon tea food took a good half hour (despite being pre booked).
No one checked if our food was okay, we had to ask twice for a top up of tea as it wasn’t offered.
Also the toilets were filthy, there were two members of staff sweeping them and no cleaning signs to warn you or this.
Staff in the farm shop we’re lovely and helpful but the staff in the tea room really weren’t great, customer service needs to be improved.

We took our two young children 5 & 8 for the pick your own pumpkin. This year they even charge you to walk on to the field and pick the pumpkin, before Covid it was FREE, Then one you have the pumpkin they charge you a fortune £10-12 for the same size they sell in Aldi for £3. Very expensive using the big Covid excuse to cash in on people !!! Won’t be going again and I would advise everyone to stay away.

The shop is a rip off
The cafe is a rip off

Keep your money instead of lining these fat cats pockets

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced and a horrid experience!!!! We visited the farm today to go strawberry picking with my children (ages 11,13,14) and their grandparents. A man in the PYO shed was very unhelpful and rude when I asked about the “deposit” for picking strawberries. There was 6 of us and so it would have cost us £12 to go in, if we picked less than that in strawberries, then they keep your deposit! I would argue that this is not a deposit, and that it is misleading customers. It is charge for picking fruit and a refund if you buy any. (See photo) Needless to say the man in the shed put us off going in. In the shop, it was even worse!! Staff were rude to us. One lady even rudely shouted “what are you doing!” at my 13 year old son, and then she blocked the doorway to stop him entering. He was just walking into the shop to pick a ice cream from the freezers. We were treated rudely when we asked where to go to pay, because we had disturbed three staff members who were chatting and laughing and ignoring customers. I was so annoyed I came home and looked at the reviews on here! Only yesterday someone else said staff were rude to them! I would say this place has a problem with their staff. Don’t bother going here! We will not be returning ever!!!

On Sunday myself, my partner and my 2 year old attended the PYO pumpkin event. We have been coming here now for years. This is our fourth year attending this event. Im very grateful that this event still went ahead regardless of the current Covid situation. However, we were very disappointed. The farm is usually decorated beautifully for Halloween and is very good and engageing for children. This year it was very dull and very depressing, it made the current situation feel even more dull. The tent is usually decorated and have areas to take photos with you child. However the tent was empty. It just had some stands with some pumpkins on. You had to pay at a tent which again, was very dull. It wasnt enioyable for children or even for adults in that matter. Understandably the cars and tractor ride were not on due to Covid but im not sure why? Limited numbers were on site as it was pre book only and seats/equipment could of been sanitised between use. Especially when many other places and events were doing things abd had made their event a lot more fun for children. I just feel that this PAID event wasn't worth the money.

After picking our pumpkins we headed up to the farm shop. We asked the gentleman on the door if we could leave our paid pumpkins in the wheelbarrow and if he minded watching them. We said if not one of us would remain outside with them. The gentleman assured us he would watch our pumpkins however when we came out of the shop they had all been put back onto the farm! This issue was resolved however my overall experience this year was very disappointing and i will not return next year.

We came here today for a Sunday roast and were very disappointed. The beef was inedible as it was so chewy, all the veg came out cold except the chicken which was really tasty and moist. Our food arrived so quickly (five minutes flat if that) I know myself as a chef that it has been microwaved as it was luke warm and soggy. Everything needed seasoning adding to give some sort of taste. Our drinks arrived half way through our meal and the overall quality for the very high price was extremely disappointing.

Definitely will not be returning. The staff were short and rude to us when we asked for some piping hot gravy to heat up the veggies that also came out only warm.

Avoid at all costs!

Extremely disappointed with the pumpkin picking this year. We visited yesterday (29th) and found near enough no pumpkins left in the fields. We walked to the back field through all the mud to find mainly rotten or broken up pumpkins. We ended up leaving empty handed and going someone else.

The price of pumpkins alone seemed expensive but having paid £2.50 each for entry for an empty field seemed a rip off. It feels like they over sold the experience just for profit when they didn’t have enough produce. Won’t be returning for the pumpkin picking!

Met up with a friend to get some fruit and have a catch up in the cafe.
Surprised that the PYO was £2 each entry and then almost £7 for a punnet of strawberries. Quite cheeky when they’re advertised in the shop for alot less. I understand you pay for the experience of picking your own and the fun, but still abit steep in my opinion. The farm shop was amazing and had lots of lovely goodies to buy. No negatives on that part, however we went into the cafe to have a cup of tea and a cake and we were very disappointed. A female server watched us sit down and completely ignored us. She noticed a man sit down next to us and gave him a menu/ drinks list. I waited for her to come back with ours and she didn’t. I proceeded to get up and go to the front counter to ask for menus, I was told they weren’t serving food. Why was the man given a food menu but we were told otherwise? I put the rudeness down to them being short staffed but we felt like we just weren’t wanted there. I asked about dairy alternatives and they only had Almond milk.. no cakes or anything that were vegan. A shame really.

We went in to have breakfast waited to be seated but was just ignored by staff so we walked out. I expected the shop to be a little more expensive but I was shocked at the prices they were charging. We bought chocolate covered apples for the kids to eat on way home( which turned out to be rotten in the middle so we threw them away.) The woman that served us treated us like we were an inconvenience she was very miserable and rude.
Staff rude, shop rip off. Total waste of time and money will never go again. Avoid !!!!!
