About
Wolverhampton Grand is a long established theatre in the heart of the Midlands. It receives a wide range of major touring productions including drama, musicals, ballet, dance, opera, variety, concerts, children's shows and one of the biggest pantomimes in the UK, with audiences from across the region and beyond taking advantage of excellent transport links to the town. Admired by performers and audiences alike for its intimate three-tiered Victorian auditorium, the Grand celebrated its 125th anniversary in December 2019.

Wandering around Wolverhampton my twin brother Stephen and I passed Wolverhampton Grand Theatre and although at present not open to the public due to the coronavirus pandemic I must say I was totally impressed with this building.
Built from designs from Charles J Phipps who was a prestigious designer of theatre's in 1894 at a cost at the time of £10.000 its such an iconic building, very photogenic, makes for some great photographic opportunities, lets hope it opens soon so people can start enjoying the great performances played out in here.
Easy to locate along Lichfield Street, most definitely well worth a visit if you're in the area.

I've had many great times here watching all their shows, there's something for everyone and the prices are reasonable. Met quite a few people at the back stage door too :)

Stunning 125 year old Theatrical Venue
Mar 2020
I always enjoy coming back to the Midlands to perform in the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, and it is stunning. A beautiful historic building, it houses a great variety of theatre in the centre of town, and there is something for everybody's tastes.
I enjoy looking out into the three-tiered Victorian auditorium, which is 125 years old.
You won't regret a visit, but your hardest decision will be what to see?
Enjoy!

Grand, not only in name!

A very, very pleasant afternoon was spent with my wife and daughter at the matinee performance of "The Sound of Music". This is the first time we have visited for quite a while and had forgotten how wonderful this old Victorian theatre was. The acoustics, view and seating were excellent, the staff and facilities were good, and the performance was perfect.

What a lovely theatre, it hasn’t changed in 25 years - that was my last visit with my daughter for a pantomime.

Easy to enter all our handbags were checked on entry and easy to find our area of seating.
We purchased a drink before getting seated £2.20 for a small coke, So a bit pricey. There were a few bars on every floor so not a long wait for a drink.

Seats were comfortable and the show was hilarious.

The ceiling is so beautiful as was the rest of the interior, such a stunning building.
The staff were so polite and helpful. Really enjoyed it. Shall definitely book and go again.
I’d highly recommend the grand theatre.
Wonderful experience.
Unfortunately I couldn’t take a picture as it’s not
allowed to use your phone for photos inside. So you’ll have to go and see for yourselves.

A Xmas gift

A wonderful experience, not been for many years and how it’s changed some good and some not so good but overhaul very pleasing. A cup of tea before the show which was very nice. Our play was the History Boys and the actors did very well, the ending was emotional and upsetting, probably memories of my school days spent at St Peters w’ton all boys in the late 60s. Overhaul staff were very friendly and the venue very clean, there is a lift up to the dress circle, and they have space for wheel chair users. So all can enjoy a great performance.

Trip to the Grand theatre for birthday
Jul 2019 • Solo
Had a gr8 night was given 3rd row seats drinks are expensive ppl tend to walk across the road to the pud for a quick one or if you go early b4 the performance you can get a good meal for much less than theatre prices. Overall I would rate this place a 9 it would get a 10 were it not for the price of the drinks.

Poor bar service
Jan 2020
Having paid a lot for ballet tickets we thought we would have a pre-performance drink. Absolutely packed downstairs so off we went to the circle bar. Not so busy but unfortunately one of the bar staff was really useless and struggled how to work out how to order interval drinks on the computer screen. Her colleague was really slow. Really slow. After twenty minutes we gave it up. They charge over the odds for drinks in my opinion so should get this sorted. More staff training may be of use.

Hi Dinley, We welcome all feedback and act upon it where necessary. However derogatory comments about individuals will not be accepted and do not help when resolving any outstanding issues. I am aware of the incident your comments relate to and the wait time was substantially less than you have stated. There was an error with the EPOS and together with the support of a colleague, the error was resolved quickly. All of our team receive continuous training and this is reviewed on a regular basis. We constantly check our pricing to ensure it is in-line with similar entertainment venues. Our remit is to deliver exceptional customer service therefore I would recommend highlighting any issues with the FoH Duty Manager on the night should any arise in the future. Anthony
