We haven’t been here since the kids were little - the eldest is 17 and youngest 12- the pigs have disappeared and the maze is overgrown so we were a little sad until we popped to the tea rooms which is even more amazing than before and such good value. You can’t see the servers for the mounds of cakes and goodies . For a family of 5?we each had a drink and also four cakes. It came to just over £13. The cakes were too big ( a bit too sweet) for a couple of my teens but they were lush. The lunch menu is baked potatoes , sandwiches and everything with chips. Excellent value and portion size

Brilliant afternoon tea supplied by very friendly staff - excellent food, wonderfully presented. A credit to the management. Our group of 16 thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. Many thanks girls.

Was a lovely little experience. It’s free so the amount of animals is limited to only sheep and chicken. But the cafe is glorious! The food is beautiful and the staff are great. Our daughter is only two so she didn’t complain but I guess older kids may find seeing only two types of animals abit boring. Nevertheless the cafe and outdoor seating makes up for that!!

Great place for a bite to eat. Great range of pastries cake & drinks. The staff are friendly and helpful. Seating inside and lots outside. The seat just the other side of the gates is nice as you can see the birds on the feeders, we saw blues tits, great tits, robins, gold finches and more. You can walk down to a brook have a look at the sheep with their lambs, unfortunately the walk around the chickens, geese etc is closed at the moment because of avian influenza. Will visit again.

Visited today with my one year old daughter. I live local and being meaning to pop in after seeing it online. There's not much to see but had a nice walk around with my daughter and she liked the animals. It was the tea rooms that let it down for me, I was alone and asked the lady at the counter if they had a high chair. She grunted to the lady next to her to tell me, who pointed to them. I was holding my daughter so had to struggle to carry her and in one arm and the highchair in the other. Would have been nice for her to offer to help. I just didn't feel comfortable or welcome. The staff weren't friendly or attentive. Needless to say I won't be rushing back in a hurry.

I visited today with my 3yearold grandson. So disspointed. What has happened? Its gone from being a hive of activity with lots of pigs, geese, chickens, etc to 1 pig, caged geese, caged turkey, no chickens and five adult sheep and a few lambs. The rabbits were the first to go last year. My grandson loves counting thing!!I had to visit the toilet with him and I have to say they were appalling. Very dirty. I'm not expecting a hotel loo, but they needed a very deep clean. We have visited the farmsince he was 9 month old and I have never seen it in such a state. it hass transformed from a lovely experience for a child to a barren pens.

Hi suz55939 ~ Thank you for taking the time to review Northycote Farm. I can understand your disappointment at the lack of small animal attractions. From time to time throughout the year our livestock changes - this is for a variety of reasons - but it means that not all of the stock is on site. Recently we had some new lambs. Currently, for instance, we are eagerly awaiting the birth of some new piglets. We look forward to you visiting the site again soon. ^Wilf

I used to love going here as a child but my recent visits have left me disappointed.
It takes about 15mins to walk around the 'farm' which consists of a few pigs and chickens.
There is a sign up on the car park that informs you that the gates will close at 5pm, so we got there at just before 4pm and unloaded my son into his pushchair, walked through the gates to the farm to be shouted to by a member of staff that they were now closed.
Surely they could have closed the gates to the farm if that was the case instead of unnecessarily shouting to us. Or better still have a sign up that tells you they will be closed at 4pm, that way there can't ever be any confusion.

Hi John H ~ Thank you for taking the time to write a lovely five star review of Northycote Farm and Country Park and that you enjoyed your visit. The cafe is run independently of the council under lease. The girls in the cafe are open six days out of seven. Closed on Mondays (except for the school summer holidays when they are open Mondays too). It's always worth giving them a call on 01902 784200 - if your party is particularly large, they may consider opening up for you. Kind regards ^Wilf

Hi - It is a dog family venue. However, please note that dogs are not allowed in the animal enclosure area and are best on-lead when high volumes of visitors. They are welcome in the courtyard and outside of the cafe.

Hi northycote farm. would you be interested in two lovely rhode island red cockerels? We are looking to rehome and remembered that you lost some animals earlier this year. We would rather you have them for visitor pleasure than sell them on...

Hi Russyhar ~ Thank you for your kind offer of the Rhode Island Red Cockerels. Unfortunately, we are not taking on any more stock as we prepare for lambing very soon. Look forward to seeing you at the farm soon. Kind regards
