About
The Arena Theatre is one of the West Midlands longest established and most successful small-scale touring venues. Our visitors can enjoy a superbly compact, reasonably priced, state-of-the-art complex. Bright and bold in design, it embraces excellent front of house facilities and two exceptionally relaxing theatres with flexible performing spaces. The Arena Theatre seats 150 and is brilliantly deceptive – seductively drawing its audiences into a more intimate understanding of the play, surprisingly spacious for dance or ballet, funky and unpretentious for hot music. Quality programming has always been of paramount importance to the Arena Theatre and outstanding professional companies, celebrating drama, dance and music, will continue to dominate throughout any given season. The Arena also showcases work by local schools, colleges, students, amateur companies and community events.

Intimate theatre with everything
May 2018 • Family
A great theatre - intimate and friendly staff, but equipped for everything. Neil Redding runs this hidden gem -he and his superb staff bring excellence to every production on stage. A great place to visit - interesting theatre - small terraced bar area - amphitheatre smaller space - it's great!

Vamos theatre group.

My third visit to this little theatre to see the Vamos theatre group, I am a big fan of this very friendly modern theatre, great plays at very reasonable prices and very different!! good parking near by, and a great pub, The Hogs Head, just outside to snatch a quick bite to eat.

This theatre is an absolute gem. Went to see Great Expectations last night and the venue was ideally suited to this one-man show,

It's a great programme, full of surprising and intriguing shows. Well worth a visit.

Fantastic, great prices, lovely small theatre

Went to see don't dribble on the dragon, the reception area is modern and clean, with a few tables. The theatre is quiet small compared to other theatres we have been to such as the grand, but it was ideal for the family show.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Would recommend the venue and also the show.

I have been here a few times to watch dance shows.
It's very clean and has lots of space.
I think you get a great view of the stage no matter where you sit which is great.

A culture nugget in the heart of Wolverhampton .

The Arena Theatre is part of Wolverhampton University Campus . You have a comfortable view of what performance you wish to see . I started going here in the mid 1970's when it was part of the Wolverhampton Polytechnic Campus . Theatre goers attend the performances they want to see . That's what I do and in their varied programme I can usually spot one or two little gems .

Went with my son to see Sorry No Coloureds No Irish No Dogs. Lovely foyer area with bar facilities at reasonable prices. Lots of information available for upcoming events as well . Theatre itself was fab. Seats great. The performance itself was spellbinding from start to finish. Not surprised it was a Sell Out performance. Will definitely be returning.
